glo gauges no work wtf

aight so i got some glo gauges right, got em all done nice n fancy n what not. I finally go to get a power supply. so the positive supply fromt he dimmer doesnt work. and the red power suipply wire from the fog lights dont work (probaly becuase i dont have fog lights) and then i tried the cigertette lighter and it still didnt work. But does the ciegerrete lighter only work when the ignition is turned? or does it work no matter when u use it? i dont smoke so ive never used it in any of my cars. :thumbdown

yes the lighter only works when the key is on. Atleast mine does anyway.

Just get a jumper lead and attach it to the positive terminal on your battery. Make sure you have a good ground also (it helps to have a test light - they're pretty cheap at your local parts store).

The gauges would always be on if you attached it to the postive terminal of the battery.

I suppose you could use a switch...

Yeah, I know. I was basically just making sure they're working correctly, I wasn't meaning for it to be permanent.

just hook them up to your rear defogger or something. I hooked mine up to my Evac button so that they turn on with my headlights.

i thought best place to hook up was head light power supply...think about it...when do u need the guages to light up...when its dark...what else do u need when its dark...ur headlights on
