hey i got a set of 18's on there way to my house. they are 18 with a 40 offset. They will have 225/40/18 rubber. I am 99.9% sure they will fit with out rubbing, correct my if i am wrong please. So my questions is what will the wheel gap be like? My cars suspension is stock. anybody got pics? do i need to lower my car? i dont really want to but if i have to i will.
Thanks for the help.

yea i got 18's and the wheel gap is there and even more noticeable. u and i both need to lower the cars for the wheel gap to go away.OMG

You will definately want to lower your car. Just like DeezEclipse said, the wheel gap will be more noticable. You will not rub at all on stock suspension. I lowered my DSM 1.6" w/ my 18's and I have never rubbed. Actually, 18's with a 1.6" lower gives the perfect amount of wheel gap. Here's a pic of what mine looks like.

YA you have to lower an eclipse in order for it not to look like your ready to do some serious rally action. THe car was built sooooo high!
My friend put 19" racing hart c5's on her eclipse and dropped it 2.1 inches and never rubbed her tires. The body with a real bomex kit was another story! ssssccccrrrraaaaaappppeeee! Everywhere .
You should be cool with the drop that 99gst_racer said. THe wheel well is plenty wide thats all you have to worry about anyway

here's mine on 18's. i was kicking around the idea of going to 19's, but i dont feel like spending the money.
