I am looking to put hood pins on my new VIS OEM CF hood and have already ordered them. I wanted to hear other people's input on location as well as installation. I don't wanna mess my hood up doing something wrong...LOL I really like the look of having them towards the outer edge of the hood instead of towards the middle like a lotta people do. Thanks

Mine are toward the outside of the hood. I think this is where you are talking about. I didnt install mine myself. I had it done while my car was in the body shop. But they did tell me that the installation was very easy. Here's a good pic of them.

Yeah. I want them where 99gst_racer has them. Do you just remove the rubber hood supports? Does this cause any problem with the hood chattering or moving at all? Thanks for all the input.

I didnt remove the rubber hood supports. I am using the factory hood latching system also. So you hood closes and latches tight like stock. The pins are used as a backup only.

I will be using my factory latch also. Where exactly did you put the holes for the hood pins? The more details the better. I really don't wanna mess anything up...

Here's the best pic I got. The yellow arrows point to the pin posts.

yes, this thread is old, but now that more people have Carbon Fiber hoods i was hoping to see pictures of where exactly people have their hood pins. pictures with the hood up and down would be great to see the location of the pins.

also, from earlier has anybody removed the rubber hood bumpers to put pins there? do they not support the hood?

Mine were done the same as 99gst_racer. You don't have to remove the rubber hood supports. You have to remove the headlights for clearance, then trim the hood pin "posts" so the headlights fit back in place.

i'd rather install the pins in a way that i dont have to remove things such as my headlights, if at all possible. as for the rubber bumper things, i saw somebody touched on it earlier in the thread and was wondering what they were talking about.
