i ran a 9.08 at the track last night (1/8th mile). this time i didn't even break an axle. haha.. i took out my sub box, rear seat.. i had my hood off and reangled the hahn air filter so it was sitting higher than it was before. but damn was that air filter dirty.

i could have done better on the launch.

anyway.. i want to know some other people's track times so i can see how im doing in corilation to everyone else.

thanx
James

Well damn why don't stick firecracker up your butt and see if that helps. What times did you run with the car in actual street legal form?

actually at 9 flat.. its 1.55 times the 1/8th mile time.. however that calculation doesn't work on our cars because of the intercooler and the power band that our cars have.

theoretically it would be 13.95, but like i said.. you can't do the calculations for our cars. id hopefully say about 13.5

oh and btw.. that time was on 8psi of boost. i still can't run more till i get my vortech installed. the fittings should be here monday or wednesday. oh and wednesday is the dyno. .hehe

Theoretical???? Time travel is theoretical. Statistically from what has been seen a 420a conversion running 9.3 has not been running 13.5 in the 1/4 mile and that includes the T3/T4 star boys who are running a bigger turbo.

I would say when you run 13.5 then you can brag. Until then all I see is a 14 second car.

Well, usually on a hot day I'll run in the high 24s(1/4). But my best run was on a nice cool day in the fifties. I don't have the timeslip to prove it but it was 23.87. I know it sounds a little far-fetched, but you'll just have to believe me. That was a good day.:D

Hey Siueclipse do you ever run a straight pipe in your exhaust for the track?

I can only imagine how difficult launching is going to be for you soon with 16+psi + quick spool :)

now see.. you are just talking about a conversion.. thats it. look at all the other mods in my list. ask anyone who has been at the track, you can't do the math with our cars for reasons like i stated above. im not bragging in any way. i just think thats what im going to run if i ever get to the 1/4 mile track, (which is 2 hours away). if you want to talk about just a straight conversion with no other mods, then i could see a 14 second car, but i have more mods then that.

i dont launch at 16psi of boost. i launch at about 8, then spike to 13, then back down to about 9 because my fmu is giving out. damn craptech. at the track, i run with my exhaust cut off at the down pipe.

this thread isn't here to debate how fast my car will go. its here because i would like to know some other times that people have gotten with similar mods. so.. 2fast420a.. you can stop your argumentative bullshit.

James

I'm not trying to start an argument, but I am saying that you will not pull a 9.3 1/8 mile and a 13.5 1/4 mile on the same time slip. There are several people here with the same mods and more not pulling a 13.5. The kid asked what that would equate to and I told hime 14.4 - 14.8. Prove me wrong SIU, prove me wrong.

I'll stop being an ass when you stop racing from the bleachers. Nothing personal I just did not see why you have to guess about what your car can do when you have the means to actually run good times. Good luck at the track.

I did not start the topic of 1/4 mile times. If you took the time to read you would realize the RSTsoon asked about 1/4 mile times. Notice noone else responds to this thread? Thats because no REAL DSM tuner spends 10K + to brag about 9.3 1/8th mile times just because he is too scared to run at the 1/4 mile track.

I was trying to bite my lip on this but you continue to be an ass. If your not on here bench racing your telling people how your car will "theoretically" break the sound barrier once you get this magic FMU in.

There is an old saying and it applies here. Put up or shut up. There are too many people with 420a conversions on here who post REAL timeslips and REAL dyno sheets and manage to keep thier hoods and interiors on the car. Your bench racing is nothing but an insult to the hard work that they put into making thier cars 13 second cars. I say when you have a 13 second time slip then you should brag about it. Untill then let the people who actually have 13 second timeslips have the glory.

BTW you should post up the actual timeslip when you run the 1/4 mile and this time don't use a program to make it like you did your dyno slip.

I'm a retard? I'm not the one benchracing and BRAGGING about running 9.3s in the 1/8th in a car that was clearly made for the 1/4 mile and running a 14 second car after spending 10,000 bucks on it!

Like I said. Put up or shut up.

the best i've had so far was a 14.0 at 104 on a rather shitty day and a screwed up exhaust manifold (was leaking very badly)

Here you go...
This was with full street trim, subs, amps the whole package on street tires on 6PSI w/HRC Stage 2 w/SMIC

Good to see man. Hope you enjoy it as much as I have. You may not be beating the fastest 4Gs out there but you'll hand plenty of them thiers. Enjoy.

According to that slip above I will be running a very low 14. I have run almost that exact time at the 1/8th with the same trap. Thats cool. In a few weeks I should be running just a bit better. And I didnt have to dump 15grand into my engine, LOL.

1/8th - 9.124 (Full Interior and Street tires, 15 PSI, 93Oct)
Trap - 79.46 MPH
60' - 1.865

Actually legal once you get your car back in a few you should be pushing high 8s with that trap speed.

95 tsi FWD A/T
1/8 time: 8.951 (15psi full interior tools in the trunk and a full tank of gas with street tires, 93 octane)
1/8 MPH: 79.66
60' 2.135

Not too shabby for the horrible 60ft LOL
