ok, long story, so hold on... I am not down with paying outragious amounts for a turbo kit, many will dissagree with the way i think so please bear with me, i have a pretty good hookup around here for getting work done, i had a custom turbo header built for my 420a by a friend, its nice, i'll get pics on here when i get the chance, and i have a turbo (garrett TO4E), not going to use that turbo till i do the howell bottom end, so for now im going to be using a Garrett T3 (a/r 48c) the plan is to run 6 psi max, and use stock exhaust system with the acception of hacking the resonators and using a highflow muffler, my dad has a hydrolic pipe bender so when i go all out ima do a 3inch turbo back, but back to my question, i have all the exhaust part of the project taken care of, and the missing link, where do i get the other stuff? stuff being, RFPR (rising fuel pressure reg.), do i need injectors right yet?, intercooler piping is the hard part, i cant find it, and im going to run a modified starion FMIC (modified to and EVO3 style), all i need is like what the hahn kits come with (the turbo to intercooler pipe, and the intercooler to intake manifold pipe), ima go with an HKS BOV (i like the looks and sound of them the best) am i missing anything? if so help me out! i know about the a/f guage and the boost and all that, i have been reading bout this for about 5 months (all of winter)

thanx,

I would bend yourself up an exhaust now. The stock exhaust is not a good partner with turbo. As for the IC piping, bend it yourself, you have a pipe bender so do it custom. The other items you can buy from most places. I have a fmu that will be for sale soon, but not yet. Injectors would be ok, but if your rebuilding later just wait till then and you can buy the right size for your power goals at that time. No need to buy a set now and then replace it later.

yea.. i dnt want to have to bend my own intake pipes i want to buy them, and as for the exhaust, i think it will be fine, its 2 1/4 turbo back, shouldnt be a problem, i need to know what a fuel managment unit does as well, so fill me in

Well nobody is going to sell intake pipes that hook up to YOUR IC. The hahn and star kits match up to THERE IC's. It's going to be custom one way or another, so just bend it. Or you could buy some mandrell bend pieces and weld the pipes up yourself, or have a shop do it. No one is going to sell pipes that go from a starion IC to the 2gnt you will have to have it custom. You could buy the HRC FMIC and pipes for over a grand if you don't want to bend them. or you could buy the piping alone and hack the IC to work with it. FMU=rising rate fuel pressure reg. from Vortech. It has a big brother called the SFMU. The FMU only raises fuel in relation to boost, where the SFMU will allow you to control idle pressure as well. You will also need a missing link, or some other device to keep your map sensor from flipping out when it sees boost and cutting your fuel. As for the exhaust, trust me do it now. I wouldn't have anything less than 2.5 all the way back, but that's just me I guess. Plus if your going to do it anyway, why not now? You don't want that back pressure to be hitting the turbo and slowing it down anyway.

well stock 1g turbo cars have the same size pipe as i have now, and they are 195 horse, im guessing i will be loess than that so im not worried about the 2.25 inch ipe i have, and im not a noob to turbo kits, espesially with the 420a, so dont talk to me like ima noob, i just want to know were to get stuff, i know what i need.. just dont know where to get it

Well that's what I'm telling you, NOBODY MAKES PIPING FROM A STARION IC TO A 2GNT IT WILL HAVE TO BE CUSTOM. Also, what size piping comes stock on the GST? Your saying that the GST comes with the same stock pipe size as the N/T, that being 2 1/4" pipe? The stock exhaust on your car was 2 1/4".
I'm not trying to talk to you like a noob, but you don't have all the details or you wouldn't be asking. So I will put it like this, if you want my help then ask me a question, if you don't want my help then I won't post to your thread again, but who else that has a turbo kit is answering you again?

ok, i have a modifid gst exhaust system, from a 96 gst, modified to fit my car, i just need the HRC pipes, i can do it myself from there, i had pipes made for the starion, was while i was in florida, so i cant find anyone around here to get all the pipes made that way (mandrel bent_ im not going to make intercooler pipes with my dads hydrolicpipe bender, they suck, so if i can get the HRC fmic pipes i am good, i just dont know wgere to get a vortec fmu, or any of the other accesories

you can use pool railing. you know that part of the pool that you hold when you walk into it to keep you from slipping. Now it is nice and crome but it is galvanized so it is treated with a chemical so if you try to weld it, it will vent off a toxic gass but cutting it will be ok you can use this for ic pipping it is cheap and manderal bent to, just find you nearest pool co. and aks them about railing for you pool. hope tht helps some

You can buy mandrel bends from some web sites and then piece them together, I don't think Hahn sells just the pipes though. You can call Brad at Hahn and ask him if he has an extra set laying around somewhere. As for the FMU, you can get it anywhere that sells vortech stuff. Mine will be for sale later, prolly next week. As for the exhaust it is 2.5 then and will be just fine.

Yeah, you can look at his car for sale and see a wonderful pic of an HRC FMIC....LOL That is the only reason I have ever questioned their setup, when the guys that put ti together haven;t even tried it on their own car...kinda scary if you ask me....

well my starion was made to copy the EVO III, it has modified tanks and 2.5 inch in -n- out pipes made of aircraft grade aluminum tubing, as for the pool railing, awsome idea man, i will definetly check into that, i have everything str8 now guys, and thanx to all for the help, if you have anyting to add feel free

haha one more question, will the "95-99 Eclipse Turbo Walbro 255lph Fuel Pump" work in a 420a car, i guess my question is will the 255lph pump for 95-99 gst work in a 97 rs?

with a howell bottom end kit, TO4E turbo, all that, running close to 300 horse, which Vortech FMU disc shoud i run? 11:1? 12:1? ect ect????
