hey everyone, i'm sean! i am the nissan forum mod at hondasociety.com (don't try to make sence of it) and i am active in a few other forums like the-lot.net and nico.. still, i've sold my nissan and i'm going to be getting a nt talon (95) and i would just like to greet all of you and begin relentless questioning to learn more about this new car..
now for my question, being as though i have the tools and such, is it possible to swap a 4g63 engine into my car? i've seen a few "cyclone" swaps into 1g's and i can locate 1g engines for pretty cheap, but i don't know the complexity of the swap for a 1g engine into a 2g, otherwise i would try to find a 2g engine for it, but i don't know the minor differences of these cars..
are the mounts different for the 420a?
where can i source a usdm engine? (checked the junkyards and they are mostly ford escorts and other such crap around here..)
has anyone done this swap?
and while i know there will be those of you calling me newb and such telling me to search and saying "just buy a turbo dsm it'll end up costing less" well, please refrain.. i am only getting this car because it's free and i really can't stand the chrystler engine attached to the automatic slushbox.. and don't worry i've done swaps before and have plenty of friends who can help if i #### up.. oh, and nice site!!
either way, thanks alot
later,
Sean

Most of the stuff I have was used when I got it. But my car is home to a 2.2L stroker, a star stage 2 kit with the e trim and BB option, a CM stage 4 clutch, quaife LSD, Stage 3 axles from driveshaftshop, ETC, ETC, ETC. Everyone can't get the same deals I did, that's for sure, but if you can find things at the right time you will be able to come close. Basicly I spent $6500 in mods so far if you include guages and all that (just go fast parts and guages) I'd go into all the details but I don't feel like typing that much. James went a different route than me as well, he has the hahn kit and has had to replace several pieces in the kit to get where he is, plus he paid more to start with. He has also built his head, and done some porting and what not. I still have a completely stock head. There several different ways to make power with this car, and they all have different price tags. Basicly, if you do the swap, and then try to go fast it's going to cost you more in the end. If you build up your 420a it will be the cheaper and eaiser and more reliable way to make power. Trust me there is lots involved in this swap and lots to mess up. Go to 2gnt.com, and you will have a new found respect for the 420a, or at least read up on a guy named the1bill. He has had a hell of a time swapping in a 2.4L 420a which is the same motor just a little taller. Now for this swap your talking about all those pains x 500. Everything would have to be custom made, and I mean everything. Do it if you want, just be prepared to have a really really rough time that may even end up rendering your car useless.
