I posted this in advanced board: http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/showthread.php?postid=481628#post481628

I just want to see what you guys have as far as fuel setup and management. As far as what fpr you use (static/rising rate), injector size, and management systems... It would be easier for you to help me on this topic if you read the above link, to give you some idea on what I have. I'm planning on running around 10psi on my stock motor. So reply according to that, thanks a lot guys, your a big help.

GET the FMU it gives you 12:1 fuel pressure ratio. Yes you do need to run bigger inj. when you re-build. The E01 controller will let you control the whole system. Set boost for RPM and GEAR selection it has a V-tech mode I know we do not need it but you can use it to control nitrous! Now people say that you can only run 40% bigger inj over stock. I have not found that to be true but if it is the E-manage can still run 2 more inj. for your system at any size has timming advance and retard, has scramble boost , knock senor, lots of $hit it can control your whole system.

I've decided to go with 550cc's, 1:1 static FPR, and emanage.

Reason I went with 1:1 instead of a rising rate, is because I feel 550's will supply enough fuel with a lower pressure, if I do a 12:1, ill be injecting INSANE fuel. Am I pretty accurate on this? Other suggestions are good too =)

I don't know that the e-manage will idle the 550's. A lot of the e-manage guy's I know run a small rising rate reg along with injectors thet the e-manage will acctually control. I would ask your e-manage dealer if it will run the 550's on your car. Yeah you wouldn't need a 12:1 but prolly like the 2.75:1 or whatever. Do you have an SFMU already?

The only thing for fuel I have so far is my 255lhp HP pump. I can't have the 550's or 650's, with a 1:1 and just let emanage control my fuel?

Kirby, your gonna have mail in the near future as soon as I get all my parts together. One ? real quick though...will the fuel rail from a 1G work for the secondary, I can get one for free so if it'll work then I'll go ahead and snatch it up. Otherwise I'll be your best buddy in the world come tuning time....:thumb:

TIA

Don

With a rising rate (FMU), is there a pressure you set it to, and then it does it's 12:1 thing from there? Like at idle (vacuum and 0 boost) what would the fpr be doing? would it be doing what I have it set to, or according to the vacuum, can someone xplain to me how this works?

Can someone explain what a 1:1 static does at idle, 0 boost, and maxboost, as well as what a FMU does at these same states.

the E-manage will run 550cc inj. and at idle you can have the e-manage run the inj. at 50% duty cycle. but 550cc I think are too big, now the E-man. will let you run 2 more inj. as secondaries which are set to only turn on under boost. Think about thisyou can run 250cc and have 800cc secondaries all depons on how much fuel you need. You have to decide on how much power you want to make.

from what I understand the e-manage will ONLY control injectors that are 40% bigger than stock (what I mean is that's the max it can control). Naturally I'm still doing research so I can find out for sure, but if it's not the case I still feel the e-manage is the better way to go!

Ok guy's so explain to me how you are going to get 2 injectors to drop fuel in all 4 intake runners evenly. The fact is the e-manage is great, if you don't outrun it's capabilities. I did extensive research on this option before I decided to go with the 8 inj. setup.
Ok so Onosendi An FMU will only add fuel at a certin ratio based on boost depending on what ratio the disk in it is. This is what comes with a star kit, it is adjustable by using different disks, but it will only add fuel based on boost, there is no adjustments for idle or static.
With the SFMU it does the same thing with the disks, but it also allows you to adjust your fuel pressures at idle and static.
A 1:1 regulator raises fuel pressure 1 psi for every psi of boost. and is not adjustable it will always add 1:1. But some of them will allow you to adjust your idle pressure.
So a 12:1 disk in an FMU or SFMU will add 12 psi of fuel for every 1 psi of boost. Static just means on throttle without being in boost.
Now with the e-manage if you have the SFMU and the e-manage it allows you to adjust things a lot more. So with that combo you could use the SFMU to help you idle the injectors along with the e-manage. So you could lean the idle with the SFMU and the e-manage. and you could use larger injectors. This is all theroy though as I do not have the unit so I HAVE NOT TESTED IT. This is what I was discussing with someone who uses this set-up. You would still have some issues with timing as well if you lean too much with the e-manage, so if you go this route it still plays with the MAP sensor. You can retard the timing with the same unit though, but it'll be a little hard to tune. This is not for beginers that's for sure.
Dudasd you "could" use any rail you want, but I don't think it will line up right with the runners in our manifold, I would just get the stocker from Bob kise or someone else if they have one. If you want contact Metal jim (I think) over at 2gnt, or just search for 1g and 8 inj setup and you'll find the post about why he didn't use it. Also I don't know how the plumbing is on that rail, so it may not be the easiest rail to plumb with the rest of the system. This system is custom, but why make it harder than it has to be, I think the rail new from bob is like $60 ish. You have Corbin's site address that shows the build right. If not post and I'll link you, but you could look at the pic's there and see how the 1g rail would fit in plumbing wise. Well I think that's everything, I'm going to go get some advil for my hands.....LOL
