Going turbo this summer, so far here is the setup im going with, need some opinions on if this is good enough or something needs to be added/deleted, anyway:
STAR stage II or HRC stage II w/ fmic
RC 550cc injectors
SAFC
Walbro 255 fuel pump
Vortech SfMU

Thats all im gonna do for now. Plan on running like 7-8lbs of boost until I rebuild the bottom end. So, decent plan so far or what? Thanks

I never listen to anyone anyway, unless they are giving good advice. Thanks for the input too.

550cc injectors are way too big for just turboing your car. you actually wont need the fmu, the fuel pump.. or afc for that matter.

the hahn kit comes with everything you will need. not sure about the star kit though.

you can run boost on your stock injectors, however if you are running too lean you need to get some 310cc injectors. those are a good level.

yeah it sounds pretty good so far. don't let anyone tell ya its not worth it to do the turbo job

Honestly, take a look at what he has listed.. Its not needed. I hope you know more than what I think you do at this point. You shouldn't give advise if you don't know what you are talking about.

I know I can run boost on stock injectors, but how much safely? Is boosting 7-8psi on stock injectors going to work?

i was running 10 psi all day long with my HRC stage II and actually was running phat as hell.. couldnt bring down to lean if i wanted to. Just make sure that you have a oil pressure guage for sure. That is a must. To much oil pressure will result in block problems. rings and pistons to be exact. TRUST ME I KNOW!!! THE HARD WAY!!

Thanks for the info. I got my boost,EGT,A/F, and oil pressure gauge on the way.

If you get stronger pistons and rods (or a bottem end rebuild), can you still have a problem with oil pressure?

the star kit comes with a fuel pump so you dont need that if you plan on only runnning 7-8psi you really dont need anythig else until you re build and turn up the boost. The star comes with everything you need.

If you go star, then your all setup, If you go Hahn, get the SFMU. Other than that the kits will come with everything you need. Don't buy 550's there are guys that run 22psi on 440's. I don't think they would even idle without a DFI. The SAFC could be useful at some point, but it may advance your timing (and if you had tried that setup with the 550's and leaning it with the SAFC, you would have blown your motor because of timing advance) Start out slow, run the 7-8 psi on the stockers and learn about boost, then turn it up later after a rebuild or at least the money for one.
