ok i have a 97 eclipse rs and was thinking of dropping in a star stage 2 kit soon. first off it is my daily driver so im wondering how much psi is safe to run normally on it? also, ive heard that to get more power out of the turbo since my car is n/t, i should rebuild the bottom end at some point. what exactly would i need to rebuild the bottom end? thanks for any help.:dsm:

the wastegate on a star stage II is set at 7psi, and thats fine and is what the kit is designed for.

howell sells bottom end kits, its basically everything but the block (pistons, connecting rods, etc) but they also sell 2.2 and 2.4 stroker bottoms. The major 2 reasons for needing a rebuild is the stock internals cant handle alot of PSI and you need to lower compression.

Eventually I'll push more when I build my bottom end, but instead of being mad Im not pushing 16 lbs of boost Im happy Im not pushing 0psi =)

If you got anymore questions about the star kit, just email/private message me and I'll help as much as I can.

Howell doesn't sell a 2.4L. They sell stroked 2.0L (2.2L) and thats it. The 2.4L is an engine swap out of the cloud cars. I person decided to swap and stroke and got 2.6L out of it.
