umm....that kinda depends on what size injectors you're running don't ya think?

I contacted Turbonetics, and they wouldn't sell parts directly to me - they said to go to an authorized Turbonetics dealer to order any parts I need...

cyrez187, that last question you asked is too vague. Why don't you just watch your wideband until you lean out? I believe the PortFueler unit itself should be able to handle an appreciable amount of boost. Beyond that, like X said, it's dependant upon the injectors.

P.S. I would try to road tune on the lowest quality of supreme gas in your area. So for instance, around my area most gas stations sell 92 octane, but they are places I can get 94 at the pump. I would use 92 for road tuning, and have a base for my lowest grade octane that I would be using normally, just in case 94 isn't an option.

You also have to factor in altitude and cold weather changes will affect your boost settings, so keep an eye out for that as well.

The way you have your porterfuler system setup now, I think that it will be close before you run out of injector or octane points. It'll probably be something else that holds you back from running that much boost.

well im changing the spring on my wastegate deltagate mark 2, and i was woundering how it goes back together, not sure what to do with the saucer metal peice. reason i dont know how to put it back together is because when i took it off it sprung out soo fast i couldnt see what was going on

It's pretty basic... Spring goes in, metal disc goes on top. You really can't screw it up. Be careful when removing/installing the cover, though. If you just let the thing fly all over the place, you might strip one of those retaining screws or something.

ok so i put in the stiffest spring i could find for the deltagate wastgate from summitracing and i still cant get over 21lb of boost. i guess it has to be my boost controller not good enough? i have the standard turboxs one. ### the star turbonetics turbo can go past 21lb of boost right?

Yes the turbo will boost that high, it's just a question of whether or not it is still efficient at those boost levels. You got all this money in your setup, yet you're running a standard turbo xs mbc?

I think you you hooked up your boost controller backwards possibly. Or I bet there is a vac leak somewhere.

Check your wastegate and make sure its holding presssure and everything.

What kind of BOV do you have? Maybe the diaphram is ripped and it won't hold boost beyond a certain point.

so i have the turbo xs standard one, has anyone used the high performance one above that one? and if so hit high boost like say 25psi and above?

My buddy is using the same boost controller as you and he's boosting 24psi daily

I agree, I have buddies using it boosting over 20psi as well.

I have the high performance one that Randy used to have. One slight turn of the fine tuning screw will raise you 1-2 psi. It's very touchy, so I can imagine on any of them they're fine to boost up to nearly 30 psi. I also remember we installed the wastegate backwards originally, and couldn't get the car to boost any higher than before it was installed.

just woundering if anyone has used the GREDDY PROFEC B 2 II ELECTRONIC BOOST CONTROLLER, and whats their thoughts on them?

Excellant Boost controllers, I've got a couple of people around my way that run them.

A 2g Rx-7 on the stock turbo @14psi

a 300gt vr-4 @15psi.

They respond really well, and well are listed to hold up to 45psi,

Any electronic boost controller is pricey, but well worth the money IMO.

why are they worth the money? i was thinking of getting the turbo xs high performance manual one. like is there advantages other than obvious like u dont have to get out of car to change the psi.

I have the profec b spec II. I like it. Its a little tricky to get it set perfectly on the desired boost level. You can't just tell it 20psi and be done. It just takes a few pulls while you dial in the 3 settings that determine boost.

Advantages would be:

Hi/Lo settings at the push of a button (or turn it off and then you run off what the wastegate is set at).

It displays boost and vac in either kpa or psi (if you want you can ditch your boost gauge).

It displays the peak boost level for a few seconds after you let off (good to know).

It has over boost protection. Also, the display turns red to warn you

The list goes on... I don't have the manual on me so this is just all I remember right now...

Here's something to consider...

Your FWD car makes something like 350whp at 22psi of boost (hypothetically). When you're at the drag strip, you want to stomp the gas pedal off the line, but you can't because you'll just spin your wheels. With an EBC with Hi/Lo settings, you switch to a more modest 12psi until you gain traction, and then you can switch it back up to 22psi.

With an MBC all you have is very careful throttle control, something even the best drivers can't do very efficiently.
