Turbo - Non Turbo Swap

A couple months ago my sister's eclipse GS-T was driving down the highway when there was a knocking sound and then the engine just sounded like it tore apart. It has been sitting in the garage for 2 months and we are really just looking for the cheapest fix to get it running again. We found a non-turbo engine for a considerably lower price then the turbo engines and were told that could be swapped in with no modifications. Is this true? Her car has an automatic transmission, if that information is important.

You could swap the NT engine in but it WILL take alot of modification and $. Your much better off getting the turbo engine.

Unless the person who told you they are a direct swap was referring to the NT 4G63, then they are full of it. Just do some shopping around and get the correct engine for your car.

Fix it right. Half-assing things will only have you bent over in the end.
