I don't even know where to begin. I guess I'll just make it as short as possible and to the point. I've been involved with dsm's for a long time. I have a very large supply of spare parts, new and used.

My cousin bought a galant gsx about a month ago ( his 3rd dsm and his first n/t). One day we decided we were going to fix some exhaust leaks. We were checking some stuff out and we found that the manifold was cracked in about 4 places and was impossible to repair and we didnt have a spare manifold. So what did we do? We turbo'd that bi***.

It took us a total of 6 hours and 20 some minutes. We converted from a 90 n/t ecu to a 92 turbo ecu. We even hooked up a 2g turbo fuel pump, 2g mas, safc2, afpr, fuel pressure gauge, water sprayer for the intercooler, boost gauge, eliminated all of the emissions bs, and some other miscelaneous stuff. Literally ALL of the information that we need to complete this conversion was right here on dsmtuners. We spent about 30 minutes with our buddy the search button. Took down some notes and went to work.

I've read so many posts on here about how much trouble people have with the wiring and some of the other little things. Are some people really that ignorant? I know absolutely nothing about wiring, and it took like 30 minutes to wire in the resistor pack, re-pin the ecu, wire the safc, and wire the 2g mas.

The car boosts to 9 psi with no knock. I wouldnt consider it fast or even quick but its faster and quicker than it was yesterday. None of us have driven a dsm with stock boost levels in years so we have nothing to compare it to.

We have some bets going on how long the engine is going to last since it has 191,000 on it. If it lasts another two weeks we're going to spray a 50 shot right after the intercooler.
We picked the car up about a month ago with a " bad transmission" which turned out to be a loose shifter cable bracket and worn shifter bushings. Not a bad deal for $300. I think there is like a total of around $600 into the whole vehicle including the original purchase.

So all of you guys that are about to turbo your n/t theres no reason to post any questions about wiring or turbo conversion basics. It's all right here on this site all you have to do is search for it.

I just got done with the exact same build. A GGSX with a turbo added on. There were a few things that were a little confusing to me but once I got into it, everything was prety easy. I was really very suprised at how easy it was to change over to a turbo car. I just have to deal with tuning the car and getting it to idle correctly.

Yeah the idle was a little weird, we fired it up and it was at like 2800 rpms. We just used the procedure in the service manual and idled it down and set the timing fuel pressure and adjusted the tps now everything is working just fine. We did some tuning last night and we are up to 11 psi with no knock. We also put on a 3" turbo back exhaust (tubular O2 housing, 3" downpipe and 3" exhaust with a magnaflow muffler. We havent driven it yet since we installed all of that so we will see if we get any boost creep. I really dont think we will though, with the tubular o2 and the 14b wastegate passages being ported as much as it is. We arent too worried about this engine because we have a jdm front clip on the way for a vr4 conversion. We got ahold of 2 Galant Evolution VR4 RS front clips with the big 16g, 510's, lsd and slightLY different camshafts. The guy that imports our stuff is very reliable and he knows his stuff. He was actually in japan when they cut up the cars and loaded them on the container so we know exactly what we are getting. I'll try to keep everybody updated, but it's going to be a very busy week.

How much did you pay for the Clips, with shipping? The best I have found is around 2000 shipped. I also just found out that my 550cc injectors are not enfough for my evo3 16G. I also love driving my galant, it is so much fun.

Well keep this thread updated, as to what is going on.

We paid 2000 for the clips but we get everything we want. Lights, bumpers, suspension, brakes, interior, any performance parts that are on the cars. On the first clip we got rally spec struts and coils, larger sway bars, hks bov, front mount intercooler, aftermarket steering wheel, all of the body work, vented hood, etc. The next two we are getting have some suspension mods and one of them has engine mods but we won't know for sure everything that is done to them until they get here next week.

550's are not big enough for anything except the 14b. I max my 550's out with my big 16g at 19 psi. I picked up some 750's and I'm going to burn a chip tonight :)

That rocks man. I might have to hit you up for your contact for a clip.

Also I am going to pick up some 720's on tuesday. I think that sould be good for about 18-21psi. I would like to go up to about 26psi at the track, but we will see what happens.

What are you using to create your EPROMS? What software and what burnner.

I accidentally posted on my brothers name in that last post.

I just went and checked out my front clip. It came in on saturday but I can't pick it up for two weeks because it's buried behind 20 other clips. I'm not in too much of a hurrry though. A few good suprised though. The Galant Evolution VR4 RS comes with a bigger front mount than the standard Galan VR4 RS. This clip also came with Gab struts and some lowering springs. A 3" turbo back exhaust, manual boost controller, strut brace, boost gauge, momo steering wheel, 4 bolt lsd rear, and a few other odds and ends. The tranny shifts soooo smooth.

I don't know what kind of fluid they use in their trannies but it's nice. The guy that imports the engines said that they never have problems with their trannies and I think it has something to do with the fluid. When I did my swap the tranny shifted so smooth then I drained the fluid and put in royal purple synthetic and it shifts like crap. Can't wait to get into the engine and see if there is some upgraded internals.

On another note the ggsx is running great. 12 psi no knock no problems. Now that we have the vr4 clip we are going to keep turning the boost up and tuning until something lets go.

Congrats on the completion. This is the first Galant GSX turbo conversion I've heard of before on this site. I'm sure its a little more common on the galant forums though. :thumb:

I should post some pics. I'll try to get some this weekend. I got some pics of my vr4 and the ggsx and the laser rs-t right next to each other the other day, i just have to get my camera from my cousins house. I should have pics by monday, I'll try to keep everybody updated.

Those are pics of my GGSX conversion. I have been running for about a month now. I have had the boost all the way up to 21psi. I have forged pistons. My little galant pulls so hard, I cannot believe it. So far I am up to about 7grand, and I still need to get the FP3052 and a few other things. So I figure I will be up to about 10grand by the time I am done. But I am going to have one fast ass little car.
