well, here goes nothin, hoping to learn alot from this build up as well as spread some knowledge, i know one thing already.THE MOTOR WAS A PAIN IN THE ASS FOR US TO REMOVE! :rolleyes: We thought we could get the clutch and flywheel to clear the bellhousing but it didnt work, so we yanked out the tranny as well. Anyway, just thought id post up what im doing and ill try and get up some pics of the process. What all im gonna be doing along with prices....total cost is a lil under or over $4K pending on exhaust and IC piping costs.

that sounds great. i thought the compression for the howell kit was 8.8:1 i could be wrong though. i don't mean to brag but i pulled my motor with out taking out the tranny. :cool: i am rebuilding my bottom end too and i can't seen to put togeather the money for the kit. good luck tell us how it turns out.
 
your probably right, i always get my numbers mixed up.......

Looks like your gonna be throwing the high numbers on June 11th.
I'll be coming by your place to check out how its cominng, and try to lend a hand if I can.
 
hi,i did something simular,but its a eurospec nt so it was the other motor LOL

but on a serious note..please tell me how your wideband setup is treating you,ease of use etc etc..

im torn between the LM1, PLX and Zeitronix setup..ive treid researching em,but to no avail(cept that the plx guys have a nice demo video LOL)

so please share your experience.

Hey randy LOL wrong white 97 rs... I dont got all that! but i am jealous myself. Speaking of rebuilds though,,,, are the weisco pistons any good? or is it better to just stick with JE??? Good luck though on the project man! I cant wait to see your dyno numbers!! What kind of fuel system are you shooting for???
 
only reason im gettin the PLX is because a friend of mine with a GS-T has one and he likes it, plus ive read where its a nice unit, my Aeromotive unit is a 1:1 riser i guess although its called a regulator, it raises the fuel pressure 1PSI for every PSI of boost. Ive been told i could get around, if not a lil over 300hp with the tuning of my MSnS but well see, im hoping to dyno sometime in early to mid june so well see then. Ill try and get some pics posted up tonight but this dial up internet is killer compared to my network connection back at college. Thanks for the praises.

well i got a turbospecialities pressure riser,it also ups the fuelpressure 1:1 when it sees boost..thats all the fuel stuff i got.. (i guess the edm has bigger injectors for those autobahn runs?noone knows really) thats why i definatley need a LM1 or PLX (buddy has LM1) setup,then get different injectors,safc,fp rewire ,then ill see what happens (oh and up the boost to 8psi..or even 9psi.

engine broken down, fuel pump installed, and some MSnS wires run..... go to take pictures, digi cam is dead :notgood: hopefully will be able to get some pics tommorrow.

broken down? you mean you pulled it and are swaping the pistons..or did it break :confused:
 
Broken down as in taken apart, currently rebuilding just gotta check the main bearing clearnance torque the bolts then pistons will be installed.

well the install is on hold for now....waiting on some gaskets as well as a few more SS lines, also gotta finish welding up the exhaust mani and weld the bung onto the oil pan for the oil return from the turbo....that is all for now
 
That looks awesome man. The pics came out real good.

Im actually in the middle of rebuilding my engine and turbo charging my N/T. I got the engine out and stripped down. Waiting on getting my pistons back from the shop along with my head.

I know it's alittle off topic b/c im a 1g but still similiar.
Hopefully i'll post some pics up and show some nice pics like you did. I'm gonna start cleaning up the block and intake manifold b/c i want to paint them to make them stand out

Saw the 1:1 FPR and was laughing until I saw the MSnS.

I was one of the unlucky people who bought theirs from MrSlick. Most have been waiting 4+ months. I actually filed a chargeback and AMEX got my money back for me. Now I'm in the process of debating what I want to do with my car. I was planning on installing the MSnS during the spring and having everything ready for the summer.

yea mr. slick, now thats a fine buisnessman right there......filed complaint with paypal, he responds day before complaint was gonna go through with a shipping confirm, so i withdrew the complaint, not here it is 2 weeks after his shipping confirm through USPS was emailed and sent to paypal and still no MS......dont care who you are or what youve done for the damn MSnS community but that is just straight BS WTF anyway heres some more pics....

NEVER EVER cancel a complaint until you receive the goods. If you paid with a credit card you can reissue a chargeback. If you need any help PM me.

He responded to my chargeback but within a day they ruled in my favor because he couldn't provide proof of delivery, obviously. Still waiting on a few other details.

1 person on 2gnt got their MSnS about a week ago out of the blue from MrSlick. Somewhat odd.

are you talking about brian? because he has been in contact with him this whole time, through phone calls or text messages, and is the only one that i know has gotten it so far.
 
sorry ive been neglecting my own thread, but have been busy. From working from 8-5 and then working on my car from about 5-9 i havent had much time to get on the net. Anyways, the motor is back in the car, after breaking the crank pulley for the oil pump and snapping the cam dowel off the cam everything is back together and in the car. All the wires are hooked back up and i will be finishing up my MSnS wiring tommorrow. waiting on my injectors as well. will try and get the fluids and stuff back into the car. Im in a stand still until i find someone competent enough to bend me a 3 inch DP and a exhaust who wont tell me "3inch exhaust is to big for a 4 banger" (in the biggest hick voice you can imagine). ill get up some more pics soon. peace.
