My car is running like crap.. computer is not adjusting A/F... would FCD have anything to do with A/F on map?

Get an SAFC :p

I had one. Got rid of it becuase no one could tell me how to get it to work with the turbo kit. We have to hook a FCD to our map with tricks voltage, same with AFC.. how would I get these to work together?

You gotta do your research on that hun. I didnt know either and no one would bother helping me because they figured that since I'm a girl, I would be wasting their time. I did some research and found many many topics on it. Best one made about street tuning with the safc is at road racr engineering.

I would love to help you, really I would, but if you dont put forth the effort and take the time to search then perhaps your not ready to be taught... Turboing a car takes time, patience, money, and brains. Take the time to learn then ask questions about what you learned.

PM me if you need anything hun. ;)

Are you using a SAFC on your turbo conversion? I did search but not sure what I'm looking for as far as a answer to my problem. I found a article fooling the AFC but I'm not sure i'm not sure if that is what I'm trying to do.

I suppose if you have the missing link, it might still work. I don't think it would work with the FCD (black box), but I don't know for sure.

your in Penn. contact Conceptillusions he can tune it for you with a afc

Well I have my car running again but still rich...and so much fuel it is back firing. can't even run this way. So with my 4k I spent so far I have nothing. Now I'm spending money on a rebuild just so I can boost. I'm thinking about this portfuller set-up sounds simple but is it going to solve my fuel problem? I don't know why my car is running so rich could I have something wrong with my FMU? or is there something wrong with my map sensor? My car ran fine before install. Is portfueler the way to go?

if you have the 1200 bucks i would go with the portfueler
because it uses a 1:1 fuel pressure regulator so you dont have to deal with the 100+ psi fuel pressures

you have to have the stock to 270cc injectors though as primaries
craig at hrc said that the portfueler was designed to only work with what the stock ecu can handle which makes sense because the stock ecu is controlling the primaries

i am a little leary of the portfueler fuel system though
the pics of the PF installed say that you have to make a Y split of your primary fuel line for each fuel rail then each rail back to the fpr's return ports

i think it would be cleaner and easier to run them in a series
primary line to primary rail to PF rail to FPR

if that could be done then cool

the only con i really see to the PF is that it does not self correct for air fuel
like the megasquirt can

where can I get some good info on the megasquirt set-up on the 420a? The only thing I found searching was people like me wanting to know more about it.

http://www.rs-autosport.com sells the megasquirt preassembled and all of the necessary hardware to get it going,
harness, air and coolant temp etc
all you need is to get a base map
and a wideband

also the megasquirt guru is MRslick on 2gnt.com

Well going back to the fuel problem....lets figure out the vortech FMU. I guess it depends which way your looking at this what you would consider top and bottom. I think I might have it hooked up backwards. There are 2 fittings on the vortech FMU one straight and the other has a 90 degree angle and the small on back we know is vaccum. Ok explain the IN and the OUT. Is the straight barb fitting the out and the 90 degree fitting the IN or the other way around...

the fitting that is on the bottom(small round circle) goes to the tank. the fitting on the side, prolly the 90degree goes to the fpr. the small fitting is the vaccum.

I have it hooked up backwards...thanks

So at idle FMU in closed forcing fuel through causing me to run rich....
