I just wanted to ask a gee whiz intercooler question because someone asked me and I wasnt sure.

If everything else is the same on a motor except for one has an intercooler and one doesnt. at the same psi of boost is there any difference in power. i believe there is because the intercooler cools down the air charge which would make more power but I wanted to make sure before answered my friends question without knowing.

thanks

I know there is a big long answer to this but I don't feel like typing two pages...The whole point of the intercooler is to lower the tempature and condense the molecules of air so they can burn better or something like that... Some people experience a loss of boost (1-2psi??) when they switch to larger front mount versus a side mount due to the size/volume of air, assuming the boost level is the same. Personally, I love big front mounts and yes they do make more power.. Hope this helps, not scientific answer, not complete...
