I have a 99 GS and tho it's a fun ride by itself I really want it to move. I have no engine mods thus far, but want to go for the Star 2 kit. I've heard some good things and bad on it...I've had the car for about 8 months now. And was wondering if it was worthwile to get the kit and do the upgrades or just save all my money and get the lancer evo in a few years?

Either way...thanks for your time.

hmmm a turbo 420a or an evo 8... hmmm... i would definatly go for the evo if cash is not a problem. without a doubt the evo. but if you like your eclipse keep it and turbo it and make it a turbo beast!

turbo ur car and enjoy the boost and then get the evo later when you have more funds.

Thank you both for the input. I really enjoy my eclipse, and there's no way I can afford an Evo at the moment...tho perhaps in 4 years when my car is paid off and I have saved more I can get the evo. But till then I'll do the turbo and have a kick ass car, and possibly end up having two kick ass cars to drive around town. :p

yea thats my plan, i will buy an evo next year and that will be my modified daily driver  and my 2gnt will become my project car where it will receive forged internals, stroked engine, most ginourmous (sp?) fmic anyone has ever seen, super 20g turbo....hehe im ranting now....

sober up mike, sober up. and no ginormous is not a word

does any one know how to intall the electric mod that comes with the star performance kit...its a black box with four wire coming out from it. can anyone tell me what wire goes were.

WOW, DON'T POST TOO BIG!!

You connect that wire to the yellow and black wire off the MAP sensor. I put mine at the MAP sensor, but you can splice it into the ECU also. The yellow/black wire is off the top harness on your ECU. Here is how its wired

Red - Power Hook it up to a power that comes on with your ignition
Black - Ground
Green - To ECU
White - To MAP sensor

Cut the Yellow/Black wire and hook the green and white up to the ends.

my bad...i notice after i posted...thanks man....my next question is about the diagram of the fuel regualtor/fmu....does anyone have the diagram for that...see i have the instructions but no diagrams and lots of it directs you to the diagrams...or can anyone tell me how its exactly done. I have a 97 eclipse nt...i know its in the back but i wanted to see if there is anyway to ported by the engine bay.

You can run new fuel lines all the way up there. I want to do it, but I'm using hard lines. I don't want to risk breaking a line and having a fire. Maybe a wiseman could tell us if it would affect fuel pressure at all? I don't think it would. If you don't know how to install it, I posted a thread and got an excellent answer about it.

Can anyone tell me what is the best pistons to use and compression for a stock 97 gs nt with turbo convertion with ported heads.

hey i would like to know if anyone can tell me what vacumm lines go connected to the external wastegate on a star perfomance turbo kit..i have a 97gs..the turbo kit came with out intallations..please help

Ok...Now since I plan on going with the Star Stage 2 turbo kit, which will probably be delayed more than I hoped for. What can I do while I wait that will attribute towards the turbo.

for example. I don't want to get a CAI because it would be useless to me once I got the turbo...you got my idea...

I should probably just do nothing and save up the money....but you know how that goes. :p

You could get the AFX underdrive pulley i put it on mine and was very pleased it will just squeeze out a ltitle more juice from your motor, and will add the the power the turbo gives you. you could do a 3" exhaust but you would actually lose hp until you went turbo so i dont know if thats worth it.
