As of this point i have a 99 GS waiting for its new motor. I have $2500 bucks to spend on that. I'm goin to spend about 1200ish on the engine... will have around 70K ish on it. And the rest i will use on Koni's and H&R race springs, even though it will be a street car. And if i have money left over a sway bar, and maybe a strut bar.

Now i'm having a hard time planning the future for my car, as i need a little info on turboing and things related to that. One thing i know for sure is that i want to purchase the Star Stage 2 kit at some point. I have read a bunch of posts on this topic but i'm still left with some questions.

In the END, i want to have a turboed 420A in the 300HP range, maybe a little more so that its at 300HP at the wheel. Also along with that i want to have the internals done so that it would be able to handle MORE then what i want to be running. This would insure that with 300HP i shouldnt have any problems coming from the engine. But this is all something i am planning to do by the end of NEXT summer. As funds would limit me since i'm a college kid. So here is what i was thinking.....

This summer: Do the internals.
Question: What needs to be done exactly to let my 420A handle seriouse HP beyond 300?

*please list Brands and prices for the parts.... i will put this into a list (a goal list if you will) and slowly gather the stuff this summer. Please be discriptive for i am still in the learning process. I would just like a direction to strive for.

Next Summer: Star Stage 2.
Question: Does the kit come with everythign needed to make the HP? Now i'm not talking about all the things needed to make it efficient (ie. 3" exhaust, sport clutch, etc.) In other words, once i get it bolted up am i ready to go?

*since this is a year away, i will be reading Corky's wonderful book and doing further research on my own. But once again, i want some direction and would at least like to know whats goin on with the Star kit on more general bases.

Ok I think thats it. Between this summer and next summer i will also be adding the little things like the exhaust and the clutch, and so on. If you guys could add a list of things i need to get to handle the HP that would be great too. Thanks so much, Dave

EDIT: I dont want to stroke the engine.... i just want to rebuild it with some strong parts that can handle a lot of HP, well beyond 300.

the turbo kit might come with just about everything u need. but just bolting on a turbo is not just the entire process, you would still need to put in a new fuel pump and perhaps new injectors since you want 300 hp, this might come with the kit, might not, most good kits do come with it. you also need to change the headers and put ones that can handle all the boost, plus u need a downpipe. i also recommend you think about changing the camshafts, and maybe even the block. im not sure how much the block could take. you say ur going to get a new motor for 2500, i dont know about where your from but down here you could find a brand new gs-t motor for around 2k. thats pretty f***** good if u ask me, dont know how much of this is actually true. so where im gettin at is that you should check out the possibility of puttin in an engine swap for a gs-t engine, which would then allow ur turbo kit to be installed with a lot greater ease. but thats just me, i rather save money and keep it simpler rather than kill myself tryin to put turbo on a gs. i dont know about ur springs but thats a good idea, even if u have around 310 hp at the crank you will have a great percent of that at the wheels. but if ur more interest in showin off like me, you wont be able to peel out for shit in a racing suspension.

The Star stage 2 comes with the fuel pump and down pipe and all of that. That was kinda my question... it comes with so much, i just wanted to know if there was anythign i would need on top of that. Also, I am planning on building my block. As far as the suspension goes.... i'm on a mission here to make a seriouse sports car. Any HP is useless if you cant take turns... in my opinion. I used to have a BMW with a tuned suspension and i dont care how much HP your car had, it wasnt catching me in any turns. As far as the engine goes.... i'm picking up my 420A for 900 bucks.... i can get a GST motor for around 1500, but as i have been told that motor would take a lot more then the 2500 i have to put it in my GS.
