how many rotations does it take to sufficiently prime an engine after a fresh rebuild?? i have a gs...trust

I think you can just turn it over till you see some pressure on the gauge.

Shouldn't be very much at all.:thumb:

Before I did the starter method I spun my oil pump with a battery powered drill prior to putting on the Timing Belt (got that idea off these boards) - being totally paranoid I left the Oil Pressure switch off till I saw Oil coming from it - If I had a new Turbo I would have left the Turbo Oil drain loose till it dripped. The starter method is certainly popular but there's another good idea I saw on these boards - that is to disconnect the Injector wires so as not to "flood" the cylinders with gas - That guy was of the opinion that just pulling the MPI fuse doesn't stop the Injectors from pumping gas. Definitely leave the plugs out - that makes it much easier on the starter.

if you take off the injector wires to prime it do you need to disconnect anything for the ignition or are the plugs all you need to remove?
