I've been thinking of finding a 1st gen. 4G63 and putting it in my 95' non turbo Eclipse...i've heard the 2nd Gen 4A20's are more likely to suffer Crankwalk...is this a good idea or no? Gimme some feedback..thanks

Oh my....where to begin.

1. The 420a DSM does not suffer from crankwalk...it's only an issue with the 4g63t. Whoever told you it does has absolutley no idea what they're talking about.

2. One word: Search. I know this isn't supposed to be an "acceptable" response...but in this case it should be painfully obvious, being there's a thread almost identical to this if you look about 15 threads down. This is probably one of the most beat to death subjects in this particular forum.

:talon: ;) For all you guys or girls wondering why your auto ESI talon or N/T Eclipse has no balls off the line it's a goof by DSM they put a I guess "bad" cam shaft or somthin in and it gives the car real crappy pick up off the line. It was one of the big low points in all of the of the road test reviews when the car first came out. So far I havent found anything that can make a huge diferance but the former owner had some chip put in it or something that make the car rev higher between gears causing the car to sorta double cluth even though it's a auto. So far I have beat evrey other ESI I have raced. And other then a K&N air filter the car is bone stock under the hood.:dsm:

You, stop watching F&F, do you have any idea what "double clutching" is? IT'S FOR 18 WHEELERS WITH UN SYNC'D TRANNIES!!!!! There is no "bad cam either, its slow off the line becuase its a 4 cyl and has no low end tq. Why did you come to one thread that has been beat to death by every newb in the dsm world and make it even dumber?

Hahaa... that's jokes. I love how dumb these idiots really are. Slodsm seems intelligent. SCAMPANELLIE seems like an idiot. I'm not going to say why because it's been said a million times. All I'm going to say is 'dumb.'

Ok maby I am wrong. But as far as I know double clutching is when u are at the end of ur gear befor u shift you put the clutch in give it more gas bringing up your RPM'S then u throw it in to the next gear giving your motor a small extra boost . If you think I am wrong sorry but around here that is what we call double clutching and we did even befor F&F was around!

Well, if you are at the end of a gear and still have the ability to give it more gas, you are already losing. What you are referring to is power shifting which is not lifting to shift. Why in the holy hell would you call that "double clutching"? Double means 2, plural, by definition. Nowhere in that explanation you just gave does the clutch do anything twice.
