timing belt cover

does anyone know how to remove the timing belt cover from a 420a. i was messing with it and took off the little middle piece that is bolted in but i cant get the rest of the cover off. anyone with this experience please help.

Im not sure but I would (if no one here knows) (A.) buy a chiltons/haynes manual at the auto parts store (B.) go to where they sell chiltons manuals and read it and dont buy it! That what I do!)

If I had mine with me I would tell you how but its at home. Maybe I will come on line later....Its raining so that means no track tonight!

I have the chilton book. If you can find a way for me to get the pages you want to you I would do that.

i asked because i'm assuming 1) he thinks it will look "cooler" without a cover...which could be dangerous or 2) he wants to change it...where i know this is not an easy task and should not be attempted by the beginner mechanic...and asuming if you can't even get the cover off....this task may be a bit over your head. maybe i'm wrong tho, maybe you've changed a million timing belts in your day and are just hung up on that damn plastic cover...doh!

well, i looked at hte cover more carefully, looks like it would be a pain to take off so i will leave it there. i just took off the little middle piece and looked at the timing belt and everything, just not gonna mess with the whole cover.
