18.3 quarter mile

i am a little confused. my summer car is a 98 talon n/t automatic. it is very well modded and runs low 15s to high 14s. thats obviously not the problem. about a week ago i bought a 96 with the same motor same tranny. (winter beater). real good deal. it only had 71k on it. i put a greddy cat back on it which is the same that i have on my summer car. i took it to the track and my best run was an 18.3. someone explain to my why this car is so slow. never been wrecked, no water damage, or anything. ???

check my profile. ive done quite a bit of work to it but my car was a bit of a factory freak to begin with. when i first got the car a buddy of mine bought a 99 gs 5 speed and i beat him by about a car length and he is a good driver too.

sorry bud but your NOT going to run anywhere near a 14 sec 1/4 with those few mods...you might be lucky to break into the 16's...even the best drivers with a manual have only managed to run 15.358...

yeah man no offense, but the only auto i've seen running 14's was either turbo'd or ran a 75 shot. and that's cucumber who ran the the 14.6 with the 75 shot. the venom 400 control module is complete shit b/c all it does is trick your can into thinking you're running full throttle when really you're running half throttle. so at WOT it doesn't do a thing. and the jet chip, yeah, that pretty much sums that up. also note, you upgraded the injectors and fuel rail but did nothing to tune it have fun man, the truth always comes out in one way or another

HA. Another time to put up the BS flag. Theres no way you can run those times with those mods. I want to see some slips. Ive killed plenty of 2G N/T's. Plus auto's are slow as hell. What did you do to beef it up? Aftermarket torque converter? Enlighten us more of your BS.

Hey... remember, were all on the same team okay guys. It's bad enough that us NA's have the Neon engine, we don't need any civl wars in the forums. 14's or 15's on a NA might be possible, but I am with the other guys, you need some time slips to back it up.

-Tim

PS - Nice job on the license framed intake and the heat shield, defiently a quality set up.

man. I built that just to see if it would take some heat away from the filter. It doesnt do jack shit. Its off. And its not an air box dumbass. Look at the lastest pic in my thread. Thats how it is now. And for the 3rd brake light. ! I did it b.c I say it only once on here and thought I would do it. Its only for show. Why would you make fun of that and say it makes more HP! Your a focking ricer full of shit! So back off and stop bashing on my car.

I'll tell you about your other car. It's never going to be as fast as your summer car, because you are talking right out of your ass. There are several guy's at 2gnt.com, that acctually have mods that work on our cars, And they are still trying to run those times. That's with cams and head work too. This is your mod list... "header, gutted cat, exhaust, upgraded injectors, upgraded fuel filter, fuel rail, venom 400 module, jet chip, jeep tb, cai, and pulleys" correct? Well lets look at this, The venom and jet "mods" Are complete BS, The gutted cat will acctually loose some low end, the fuel mods will do NOTHING for you since our cars run rich from the factory, and you do not have any extra air to need extra fuel. Plus the fuel does not add horsepower. And which "pulleys" did you replace? Because there is only one. I'm calling BS on this one too. I'm sorry dude but there is NO way. The only real mods you even have are intake exhaust and maybe an underdrive pulley.

ppl with 2G N/A AUTO should . If u start thinkin of speed or race for a moment dont wait even a second and sell that "2g na auto"
All ## mods exsept intake and exhaust are waisting of money as long as u like to look good under the hood. And 14 is crazy time even stock turbo dsm hardly gets there.I wont even belive if u post some slip here ### it would ###### be fake. How come so many real racers try and can'T get to 14 sec with manual NA dsm and u some kid from the hood with auto 2g NA dsm gets 14 sec? that is against all the teories about the NA dsm or MAYBE ## CAR WIGHTS 2000 lb?,if it is so I might belive u otherways ###

I dunno, i would beleive it if I saw it done. I don't know why you would want to make a racer out of an automatic. I would beleive mid 15s with the mods done on -One_low_talon- but 14s without nos on the 420a is a feat for the 5spds, but an Automatic? You must have 20 of those magical decals that up 50hp on ## talon. But hey, Ohio is close to oregon, u wanna race me? ## magical decals to my Nos?
