Your belts do seem a bit a hair on the loose side. I'd tighten them a little more. The car runs, so the cam sensor is working; otherwise you'd get a no-start condition.
Hardstarts can be caused by a number of things; typically it is related it a weak battery or something electrical (like a bad ground), or a fuel issues, like a weak pump.
As far as the AC system goes, You'll want to block off those open lines. Oxygen in the system tends to corrode the aluminum and thus lead to leaks down the road. That's because when o2 reacts with 134A, its becomes corrosive. Just make sure when you get it back together that it is run through a vacuum for a good 15-20 mins.
