Engine shuts off

Hey,

Sometimes when I am driving and lift my foot off the gas, my engine dies. I got a clean air filter and added fuel injection cleaner to the tank many times but had the same problem. Finally I adjusted the BISS screw thinking that maybe the plate in the throttle body was closing completely whenever I release the gas pedal. Since then my car hasn't stalled but now my idle is way high and whenever I put the car in neutral and just cruise, the rpm stays around 1500 until I come to a stop where it idles around 900. I want to adjust the idle back to 750 but also dont want my car to start dying again. I have a 96 GS.

Any ideas.
