Question Am I burning/leaking oil and/or leaking antifreeze?

Hey everyone, I just changed my oil about last month and refilled on antifeeze, and just last week I checked my oil and the dipstick was bone dry. So I added 1 quart of oil, wansnt enough, so I wound up adding 3 whole quarts! The dipstick read full, and I just check my oil again last night and now its like in the middle. And my coolant gauge is now starting to rise slowly while idling. Whats going on here?

Yesterday when pulling up to a redlight I noticed a lot of white smoke surrounding my car for about 30 seconds and it was coming from my exhaust. This is the 2nd time this happened.

Any help would be appreciated.

Start with a compression test. Then do a leak down test. Obviously you are losing oil somewhere and if it's not on the ground it's going out the exhaust. Sounds like the rings are weak. Coolant gauge rising could be something as simple and your fans aren't coming on or you thermostat is weak and not wanting to open.

how much coolant did you end up adding into your radiator?? also oil is heat dispurasnt it pulls heat away from your pistons and rings when your full on fluids ak. antifreeze and oil it will take a bit longer to warm up

Put the car up in the air and look at the back driver's side of the head. That is where your oil is likely going. While in the air, look at the bottom right side of the timing cover. You can just see the water pump there. Probably your coolant leak.

If you are burning oil there will be blue smoke coming out the exhaust.

If there aren't any spots on the driveway where you park then you can lean away from thinking you are leaking oil/coolant.

How dose the oil look on the dip stick when you check it?
If its a milky white then your head gasket may be no good.

Best thing is to just do a compression test. And go from there.
