out of shier curiosity, I popped my belt going down 95 in fl two days ago, just trying to figure out how much fun it is to swap the belts. Gonna pic up a new one tomorrow. so...any help is nice....much less if someone is in the palm coast area, love to just chat DSMs.:hellyeah:

You might want to double check the harmonic dampener mounting bolt while your down there. I put a motor in mine and the belt came off for no apparent reason. The bolt had fallen out and the dampener was on its way off the end of the crank. It take a few seconds to check it while your there. :thumb:

Back in my newbie days I put the motor in and used loc tite torqued it down to spec. A few days later I made a sharp turn in a vacant parking lot and heard a tink tink noise. My buddy retrieves this large bolt and says hey this came out from under your car. :(

Hmm... I drive to taco bell wandering what the hell this bolt was from and lose power steering and A/C.. I go home park it and wake up the next day.. as Im heading to the shop to put it on the lift I notice an awkward vibration and a squealing noise... I stick my head under the car and the pulley is about to come flying off! haha my newbie story.

thanks guys, took me only bout 10 minutes for the power steering belt, did the alternator belt at the same time, I am thinking I should have checked it when I bought it.
I did check the harmonic balancer, looks to be in good shape still. All in all, only took me about 25 minutes to do both belts.
First time doing a DSM. Although I have done one on a 3kGT. It was fun. :rocks:
