Ihacked the two tubes out of my MAS and a little more.. good and bad here

Good - Feels likea 5-10 hp gain holy balls!

Bad - Deisels out once and awhile when idling...will turn up idle and see what happens...

there's more to the MAS hacking other than taking out the air can's "snorkel". try taking out the lower honeycomb on the MAS itself and take out the silencer (its a "filter-like" thingy at the back of the MAS) and experience more throttle response (and hear too! u can hear ur intake "growling" hehe).i have an AT and u can really tell the difference in throttle response and shifting points.

goodluck :thumb:

yeah i just installed my injen last saturday, and yes i did noticed a big difference in gain at WOT..my engine sounds like theres a v-tec kicking in around 4000-6800rpm..i also removed the air silencer but i haven't touched the lower honeycomb...i need more detailed info of how to get rid of the lower honey comb...im scared that i might screw up sumtin..so if u guys know ne sites where they show detailed info about hacking lower honey comb let me know..thnx later.

well its a price u got to pay for more power.:shhh: besides, the idle surge is not that bad.:thumb:

hmm yeah I think I cut too much, the cv kicks HARD at mid-throttle - now how would it be if I took out the lower honeycomb?

hey, my hacking consists of: no airbox or any of that crap, k&n filer, no lower hunny comb, no plastic piece for the lower hunny comb to even go on now and instead of it being two circle holes i dremmeld it out to a single oval, no silencer, and i picked up a integra cold air intake and 2breathers. i can feel a little hp increase although it dosent idle all that well never did actually and it also bucks when going really slow in 1st and or 2nd gear, you can really hear it whistleing?, at around 3,000 rpms it sounds pretty cool actually its so loud LOL .OMG

well, u wont find it in ur car since 2G's dont have MAS. MAS is an assembly found where the air filter attaches in 1G's. it measures the amount of air coming in the intake for the ECU, thus calculating the necessary amount of fuel that has to be injected. 2G's have the MAP that is pre-programmed in the ECU.;)

if you put in a s-afc do you still need the mas? or can you take it out and replace it with a filter at the end of the intake?

i just pulled out the silencer on my 93 n/t but had no luck in finding the lower honeycomb, i see the large one but not the other, can i get directions or pictures or a location, thanx
