1. what is the best way to launch a non-turbo auto?

2. when is the best time to shoot your NOS?

3. what do YOU pay for insurance?

1. put it in 'L' and put in your 'overdrive' and floor it, hit the red and push it into '2' (u don't need to press the button to go from L to 2 to D)now i think there is 2 speeds in 2. then when you get to 70mph go in drive, then take off the overdrive. Now i haven't ever tried this in a dsm auto but that what i did in my auto altima.

2. & 3. can't help you :(

For no. 2, above 3000RPM (WOT) and stay at least 1000RPM away from your rev limit/fuel cut unless you have some kind of safety switch.
#3-$300 (No violations, Liability only & 24yrs of age.) And that's for 6 months!

1. Sell it off and get a 5-speed. Autos are for families and the handicapped.

2. Save your money on the NOS system and buy a turbo model when you trade in your automatic. The NOS is only good at WOT because all you're doing is introducing more oxygen into the chamber...why do this when your throttle is partially closed? Plus a 20Lb bottle is good for maybe 40 seconds total if you use the small injectors.

3. $1350 - 12 months. (23, single, bad credit, and no tickets/accidents...EVER)

put your left foot on the brake and hold it down hard and give her gas to about 3000rpm light goes green let go of brake and mash the gas.. dont do that going through gears crap our car shifts when it wants..

2.. about 3000rpm

3... 500 for 6 months and thats just liability

heheh

1. get a stick and always stay with stick =)
2. i dunnoe at all...
3. about 600 for 12 months

=)

1. Agree
2. Agree
3. A lot more. (27, single, good credit, lots of tickets and accidents...Lots.)

why bash on autos .... im 17 .... and pretty poor .... if thats all you can afford at the time it works ... yes sticks are better ... but they can also be a bigger pain in the @$$ ! i have a 4 speed standerd in my truck and sometimes i would like to shoot it!

and for answer #1 i would go with even2 but it all depends on what your confy with ... becouse if you not comfy with it your not going to do good any ways .... just mess around with it.

#2 about 3000 , but dont use too much it will gunk up your engine ... quick!

actually.. autos are more expensive than manual's.. friend bought a new car got 1200 dropped off the sticker price to get manual

with the new tranny mods to make the autos faster they are going to be superior in the 1/4 mile because it will never miss a shift but autoxx is a another ball game

a auto tranny will always hit its shifts and a manual wont everytime with no doubt
i beleive the auto final gear mod is on 2gnt.com
have fun guys aren't all bad they never have to put in a 700$ clutch masters ever =)

That's true to some extent... on new cars, the auto is usually a pricey option.. but when you're buying a used Eclipse or Talon, in most cases that i've seen, there's less of a demand for autos, so people are forced to drop their prices to make a sale.

1. Agree. Don't do that shifting bullshit.

2. I agree, but sometimes I got a wild hair and would spray off the ling, or about 10 mph.

3. You don't even want to know.

insurance....

thats my complaint...

the launching of a auto is the same as anyone here says hold it till 3g's and hold the break then let off of it and WOT and you should be fine...

the insurance *THINKS*

about 450 a month and thats just theft and liability...

34pts on my record... 20yrs old...

DAM GUYS NEVER LEARN!

if you like it keep it, don't listen anyone that rags on it.

NOS isn't good for the engine, but its your choice

$1024 every 6months (19, LOT (I mean lots of acidents and tickets), bad credit)

do what they said about launching, but do not put your overdrive on. I have a 5-speed, but I know that putting it in overdrive will just slow you down. As far as when you spray, I know that in 5 speeds most FWD will spray in second but since your auto spraying in first may do you good.
