OK so my old man is telling me if I just have my head re-surfaced and the head is warped it will end up "breaking my cams" cause some old GM engines used to do that way back in his day.

I know for a fact that the engine reached 250+ a couple of times. So im guessing it's warped and thats why my HG blew. Anyway so my options are brand spanking new head or resurface...

I might add this is my DD and I want it to be as reliable as possible.

How do you break a cam from resurfacing a head? Obviously check to make sure its level enough to use, if it is, resurface the head, through on the HG and ARP head studs, and off and away you go. :thumb:

I bet you did you I've got me head that hoy a couple of times and its still good.
I have no idea what this means WTF

You will not break your cams. I have taken off .020 and used stock cams, crower 2 cams, crower 3 cams with no problems (thats reving up to 8500rpm's). I have seen as much as 040 taken off without breaking cams.

Will not happen. I think he is thinking of pushrod style engines, where that would be something to deal with.
