im in the middle of chnging my timing belt and ive noticed that a chip had broken off the crank sprocket and was eating away the edge of my timing belt. not only that, but my dampener/accessory pulley also has chips on the outside edge. i was wondering if anyone knows where i could buy both of these because i havent had much luck finding anything. also does anyone know where i fould find a cheaper underdrive pulley (compared to the 240$ U.R. one)?

that would be sweet if i could get it for 40$, but the link doesnt really work

you could try searching ebay for the pulley, i bought one off of there for 30 used in good condition. as for the crank sprocket, i dont know where you could get one, maybe a junk yard or even ebay again. also, i wouldnt go with undampened pulleys, as they can cause long-term engine damage. they make underdrive dampened pulleys, but they are quite pricey. i forgot the company name though. maybe someone else knows what im talking about. hope this helps ya out

im not 100% sure, but would a sprocket thats for a sebring/avenger w/ a 420a fit on my crankshaft? the whole timing belt setup is the same, but there is the risk of having a different # of teeth...

thanks for the help with the crank sprocket, ive found one for 20$ from a chrysler dealership on ebay. im still trying to find a harmonic balancer thats a little bit cheaper though.

I'm going to be installing an Ebay Underdrive Pulley to replace my crank pulley that matches your description... when I get my head gasket... Very cheap and they provided the right part numbers for the new belts... Which I was going to replace anyway. I thought it was a good deal just for a replacement.

im a little uneasy about buying an underdrive pulley from ebay... i dont know if it will be completely blanced and also it might not fit onthere as well as an oem damper

I know alot of people that buy off ebay, I'm one of them and I trust ebay stuff... I mean its not an "Ebay Part". An actual company makes them and sells on Ebay. There are a few DSMTuners Venders that sell on Ebay. Don't know if I'd trust it if it was made by OBX however.

Most of the cheap eBay UDP's for our vehicles are milled for a slip fit, where it should be an interference fit. Use at your own risk.

If you happen to find one that is milled for the proper interference fit, though, post it up.

yeah i had a feeling that there was the possibility of an ebay pulley not fitting exactly the way it should. im probably gonna just get an oem harmonic balancer instead of a cheaper aftermarket underdrive pulley, because honestly, i dont want to risk having to screw with it again. does anyone happen to know where to get a new harmonic balancer by chance?

ive finally got ahold of a crank sprocket and a vibration damper. for anyone searching the forums with my same problem, theres a dealership on ebay with an ebay store called fredrickdodge that has both of them. the sprockets about 20$ and the damper goes for 75$
