Whenever I plug in my MAP sensor the car starts then immediately shuts off. If I unplug it, it runs, of course not well. My car threw the following cels.

1.Ignition Coil A Malfunction CEL
2.Ignition Coil B Malfuction CEL
3.Pedal Position Sensor CEL
4.o2 Sensor High Voltage CEL

The ignition coil is very new only a few months old, MSD Ignition
O2 sensor is BRAND NEW.
I just replaced the fuel rail so I might have the throttle out of position, but not by much.

Does it seem like the problem is a bad MAP Sensor? I just want to make sure before I go out and buy a new one.

MAP sensors read pressure changed in the manifold and sends a voltage signal to the ECU which tells it how much/little fuel to supply. If you knew that already, sorry for making you read it again.

My logic would tell me this: either you're not totally hooking it up correctly and it's getting outside air pressure and telling it to supply too little fuel (which I wouldn't insult your intelligence by assuming), your hoses are cracked and sucking air (if that's the way they hook up on our 95 talons, i'm not sure, i haven't had the car long enough to know for sure), you've got some MUCH larger problem with the ECU or something of the like, or your MAP sensor is shot.

To be truthful, sometimes they just burn out quickly. I recall a time when we replaced 2 of them in my dad's relient (not to say that they're the same car, obviously), within a few months.

Thanks for the reply. I called a buddy with a 420a and did a quick swap with his MAP sensor. Turns out mine is bad, when I installed his on my car it fired right up. Problem solved. :)
