Well, my car has finally given me sh!t. It idles a little rough and if I try to accerlate (pushing down more than half way on the gas padal) it just falls flat on it's face.:barf: At first I thought it might have been the idle air control valve and I replaced it. Then I got a code for random misfire, so I replaced the spark plugs. I put DENSO plugs into it. I've been putting fuel system cleaner with the last 3 tanks of gas, but it stilll has not fixed my problem. P1294 says "idle not reached within 200 rpm." I put the number in the universal code book for AutoZone and it said "injector high side open/ (bank2) idle level not reached." I going to check my vaccum lines again along with my compression.:coy:
 
Well, I checked the resistance of the injectoers along with a bunch of other things. The injectors held up fine, but it seems I got to replace my coil pack. All vaccum lines look/ sound ok, but I didn't have a chance to do a compression test (i'm at work right now). As for the harness' to the injectors they were all on tight and were not melted. I'll replace the coil next week and see what happens. Thanks for trying to help out Paul.
 
Would you say it sounds like a subaru?....If I were you I would pull the plug wires one at a time, and look for the one that when you pull it nothing happens (ie. the sound changes etc.)

Chances are you just have no spark to one cylinder....this happend to me when my msd coil pack took a sh*t on me. It stopped firing to the number 1 cylinder.

Stick with the standard NGK plugs, espcially when you go turbo.....I know guys running 8sec passes in turbo'd v8's that swear by them.
 
Well, after replacing my MAP sensor, IAC valve (idle air control), air filter, fuel filter, plugs, plug wires, and coil pack... It turns out all I needed was the coil pack. I just had to answer this problem in case anybody else ever had the same problem, they would have the answer.
 
I know this is an old thread, but...
I just got a P1294 code.
I recently installed a Jeep 55mm throttle body, and my car's idling at exactly 1k. (A bit high.) P1294 says, 'target idle not reached.' Any ideas?
 
hi i have the same problum i have the engine code p1294 and it just dosnt idle right it dose what ever it wants when i get on it has no problum getting up and moving so i dont know if it would be a coil pack just looking for some advice and help i had a misfire at 5500 rpms when it was worm but not cold replaced crank sensor above oil filter and it has not done it once
now it is just the idle i need help with

We don't ask you to be perfect, but please make an effort to use proper grammar and spelling. I don't know where your sentences begin and end. This isn't an arcane rule; adequate grammar and spelling ultimately helps us help you.
 
Sorry i was in a hurry, I have the obd2 code p1294 it just dose not seem to idle at all some times. It starts and dies in the morning until i give it some gas then it starts but if i let of the gas pedal it will die right away, I don't know what it could be and it kinda sucks driving it like that. Once it is warm though it seems to idle hi at a stop light or sing then drops down slowly to were it is to be idling at. Any ideas wound be great.
