alright... i have an RD CAI, it fits in my engine bay kinda tightly and doesnt seem to fit like it should, what i wanna know is, if i take the extra pipe off and just make it shortram whats going to happen, will it be a decrease in power? i heard it will increase the sound wich isnt really a plus or a minus.... well... i know the colder air the better but will it have that much of difference in the temperature at all because even with the extended pipe it still travels across the engine bay making it about the same as shortram right?... but i really just dont like how it fits in there and doesnt look right, and also theres a little mounting bar on the extra pipe that doesnt mount to anything so its basically just dangling there LOL..:p so.. leave it CA or make it short ram? just want ur little add ins..

with the CAI, you're sucking in colder air.. that cold air is sheilded by the piping when it's close to the engine bay, so the result is colder air in the intake compared the the SRI. With the SR, you're pulling in air that's already been heated by the engine...

If you go with the SR, you'll probably lose a little in the bottom end because of the hotter air, not sure how noticable it would be though.

If it's just asthetics that's bugging you, then i don't think anyone can help you out there... its all personal preference. personally i'd go with a SRI just because we get a lot of wet days, and i would hate to have to deal with water getting into the filter with a CAI that exposes the filter.

i know all the info between the two but would i seriously be losing alot if i changed it to SRI? right now im more about performance than looks so... yea
