hey, i was wondering what the best oil is for my 96 eclipse n/t? I know 10w30 works the best, but is is ok to use synthetic oil or should i just stick with like the regular quaker state or penzoil? also, if i use regular oil now, is it safe to switch over to sythetic? thanks

I use mobil1 synthetic. If you are switching over from regular to synthetic make sure you don't do this when you haven't changed your oil in 2 years... why? synthetic will loosen all that nasty sludge thats built up (because it has more detergents), and your engine will get majorily screwed because the oil filter will get pluged with it. this is exactly what happened to my gf's POS 97' v6 mustang.

Other then that it should be totaly safe to mix regular and synthetic and to switch back and forth, just make sure you always change the filter.

Sorry, but we're not going to do this again.

Oil in these modern times is pretty much oil. It really doesn't matter anymore.

You'll get nothing but warm arguments about which is "best" and how far you should run it.

Please do yourself a search and read the bazillion threads.

Also, look over what you find on Google.

Oh, and whatever an "engile" is, remove it from your car immediately.
