APEX-i N1 Exhaust on 1G NT

i have a 93 eclipse GS 2.0 with pacesetter armor coated headers, straight pipe replacing the cat, and a pacesetter catback. i dont really like the sound of it (makes a whiney sound at 3k RPM +) so i was wondering if i could cut the muffler off the pacesetter piping and mount an apex-i N1. ive read that the N1's are very good catbacks but i only need the muffler since i already have 2 1/4" mandrel bent piping, would this work out alright? and what is a good muffler shop that would weld brackets on the 200 dollar N1 canister. also, how much would it cost approximately

Take it to any shop and they will do it for $40 or so.
