Ok here's how it is, i have a 1998 eclipse rs but i've changed the old 14's for the gst 16's, put some eibach's on it, three inch cold air, and that's it, the car right now is going 7.0 flat from zero to sixty. I've raced against my friends who all have vw's 1.8t and they try to put dsm down. When we race I go faster in the beginning and have the lead until we reach 65 or 70 and then they pass me and get a car or two of lead but that's it. I don't want to go turbo, any advice?? (aside from headers which i will put in.....also... what headers are good for my car??)...One more thing if you are one of those people who are non believers in what i'm saying don't post anything cause wheter you believe it or not it's true, i don't want your reasons of why you think it isn't, thanks.

okay, bottom line is, what do you think i need in order to shut them up, of course not exaggerating in price and stuff.

what's that pic with the benches suppose to mean?

dont get headers, gains are not too impressive, goin without turbo is something i'd do. i think pulleys would be good enough to put u over the hump

i smoked a1.8t (stock) wagon on the highway from like 70 to 100= with only intake header, and exhaust.if their stock you should be right there with em'

u sure he was racin?

Hey nyte do you intentionally want to like start flames everywhere? i read the forum on the headers and you've been fighting with gsgoingfast for a while now. ;)

i'm sure cuz he cut me off so i cut him off and then we started going at it thru traffic and then we got a clean spot and we both kept accelerating and he was trying to pass me but he couldn't. we both exited on the same exit and he startes talking isht so i said wuz up then pull over and... well,to make it short he took off after that.

N20. And hide it like I did (see my gallery).

i really like how the moderators come in to forums n try to ban off topic posts yet they post a few periods with a picture underneath....anyways as for ur car...do what whats his face said ...n2o or go get a turbo kit...headers mightmake the difference...

my vr6 jetta hauls from 60 on but up to 60 its kinda slow..thats stock i can keep up with most...not sure about the 1.8T but up in those speeds they are quick...not real quick but they have a better chance then from a stop

I read in another forum that headers won't make any difference at all, that if anything they will give you like three HP tops....and then i read somewhere else that they will give you around 8-12HP...WHICH IS TRUE?!?!??! thanks.

i don;t really know but i know they do soemthing with liek at least 5hp i'd say go exhaust or underdrive pully or all 3 and u'll dust them ;)

it all depends on the brand of headers you get. it also depends on the mods u already have on ur car. if you already have it hooked up u will most probably see an increase of 8-12 hp. if headers are the first thing you're goin for, you wont see much gain. its sumwat effective, but i wouldnt do it because of the money. you could do many other things for the same money.

check that out, pretty good guide. they say 1-2 hp for the header, and im pretty sure they have a good idea of what there talking about. but if you look, its right up at the beginning of the mod list, so nyte might be right that it gives you more power if you have more mods, but i dunno about 8-12, it might be pushing it. i would get a cat back if i were you, and maybe a high flow cat or a test pipe. but for that much you could probably get a wet shot of ZEX, i found it for $535, and then you will own. its your choice

by the way, that list is all NA mods :thumb:

i got a header(4-1) and the only supporting mods i had were intake and exhaust at the time all it did was move my powerband up.i lost a little low end but after 3500 rpm the needle shot up. i would definatly get the underdrive pulley before i get a header if i would do it again.now i have both so i don't care.LOL but is till saw way more gains from the pulley than from the header.

woops, my bad, i forgot about the pulley. i have it and i still forgot. OMG but ya thats a good one too. pretty cheap also. $140 from howell. pain in the ass to install, but i saw some decent gains.
