 I was wondering exactly what engine is in this car?
I have some big plans for the car but I was just wondering. There are a lot of people around roanoke that have this same car but no one ever fixes these cars up right to me. I want to get a header back exhaust, intake, computer upgrade, better ignition mods, and possibly a turbo in the future. I was wondering if someone could recommend some good companies or either if someone is selling let me know.

Anyone know of a good rim and tire combo? I want either a 6,8, or 10 pointed rim. Preferably not chrome or polished. I like that silver type of rim.

Thanks. I'll check back in with yall later.
Chris

How come everyone is looking but no one is responding to anything. I dont really know alot about this type of eclipse. I just need some advice please. Thank you very much in advanced.

Chris

You may want to get a turbo car from the beginning and save yourself some money and aggravation.

The engine is your car is the 420a. The same one as neons. But they are still very good engines, don't underestimate them.

But if you want to keep the na car for insurance purposes or any other reason. Look into Star or Hahnracecraft for complete turbo kits. It will have everything that you need.

With that in mind, check out the tuning page here. That will give you a very good idea on what to do.

Excellent advice :)

i got a 96 gs. its awesome and is getting quick. they have the 420a motor and can be turbocharged. personally if you want a turbo car just get a gs-t or gsx. they have better internals and plus the motor is made for turbos. im hoping to run 15's with my gs and i might actually see them too. eclipses adjust to mods very good and are fast stock and can become even faster w/ the right parts.

ok im not done. if your going to stay n/a keep good parts. dont cheap out. greddy header, aem cai, apexi exhaust just to name a few are awesome products. i dont want to star an argue ment but imo these are the best parts. but thats imo. i think ignition msd are very good. for rims try going w/ a silver look or a black rim. chrome do not look that good on some cars. i think black is sharp or even better gunmetal is awesome. try konig or rays volks.

thank you everyone for your opinions. you have helped me out a lot. now i just have to find places to order these parts. LOL. if you have any good places then please let me know that too.

thanks as always ... chris

if your truely down to get a N/A car then do so because i was going to get one turbo'd (ghetto spelling) before i found out my insurance would be about 100-125 bucks more than what i pay already
( DONT ASK HOW MUCH ITS DISGUSTING! )

so i got a N/A and am going to put a turbo on it...
what they dont know dont hurt em...

Most of the time when people buy an rs, gs 95-99, it's because that's probably what's in there price range.........just a little advice for those who always say"Just buy a turbo"...sure. Just give me a couple more thousand bucks. I bought an rs unfortunately cuz it was all i could afford....BUT, i will make it fast. I think that the gs/rs engines are the same.... 420a. If I'm wrong n e one, youre correction is welcome. Peace.
