1G-specific Swap 3kGT exhaust system onto DSM???

I was just wondering if this swap has ever been done.... we have a stock 3kGT exhaust system sitting in the garage and I figured it wouldn't hurt to find out if I could rig it onto my 90 N/T. Just from eyeing the two, it seems like it wouldn't as the 3kGT system is about 1.4 feet longer, so I figured I could remove the premuffler, but that would make it two inches shorter than the my system. And another obstacle is the dual exhaust, as I see (correct me if I'm wrong) no 1g has. If it doesn't, oh well, but my next question would be if a 1g turbo exhaust system can replace a n/t exhaust system. And if anyone has done that I would also like to know. I need to know problems it had, any difficulties, approximately how long it would take, can it be a do it yourself job, all that good stuff. Thanks to anyone who has any information on this subject.

the 1g n/t and fwd turbo exhaust system is practically the same, except for the down pipe. same diameter 2.25" the muffler style is different and the n/t has a resonator. the turbo may have a lil better flow since it has a twin tip muffler. 2.0 n/t had twin tip mufflers too, the 1.8 had single tip. but all the hangers match up to same location. change the down pipe to a n/t 1 and it'll all fit in w/o any problems.

My car is a 2.0L, the 3kGT pipe is 2.5 inches which would help quite a bit. But because of my car being the 2.0L, would it help any to get the turbo exhaust system? The 3kGT pipe is from my brother's car, he swapped his with a VR4 and it sounds so much better and has more top end power, but then the pipe is also 3 inches. I was just thinking maybe I could do the same. Thanks for the help though.

i dont think there be any benifit to a stock turbo exhaust system. if u can make the 3kgt fit, id try it. no need going any bigger than 2.5" in a n/t anyways.
