So I wanna put a turbo kit on my gs, a big turbo kit, we're talkin 400-500 whp. I've done my homework, and read the text. But does anyone know who's got the best forced induction 2g kit. I'm really giving HRC's stage 5 some serious thought. It looks like the best overall, most perfected, most complete kit to me. But there are still so many, Extreme Motorsports, HRC, Buschar, Star. Which reacts better to daily life and weekends at the track? Anybody got an answer? And don't give me the cost lecture, I WANT THAT TURBO!!!!

dude, you're clueless if you think you can run a 400+hp gs as an "everyday driver". with that out of the way...are you prepared to spend a couple extra grand for the supporting mods also? with your car now you're looking at running about 7 lbs. of boost...maybe 250hp. if you're seriously looking to build a 400+hp car, it would be much more econimcal (and dependable) to look into maybe a gst or gsx. my advice is to continue doing your homework because at this point you seem to be very uneducated. goodluck tho.

Yeah, you are clueless. It is damn near impossible to run 500 hp on a daily-driven car. I wish you luck, but I think you have no idea what you're getting into.

I suggest you contact Bill Hahn and his wife Lori, if you are serious on attempting to tackle this endeavor.

dude a 400 hp plus car is not to be daily driven. not to mention when taken to the track, with that many ponies youre bound to break stuff on it repetedly now unless youre loaded and can afford to upgrade and replace all this #@%#@%#@%#@% i say its def. a no go.

I know of a guy that has a red Avenger and he has 450 whp with the HRC Stage 5 + and he can't drive the damn thing because he keeps snapping axles. He said he can cruise in 3rd and floor it and snap the axle. And he runs Stage 3or 4 axles from DriveshaftShop. I talked to him for about 30 mins at the DSM Shootout and he recommended that I go to Stage 3 and 4 at max!!!! I have Stage 2 and want more power, but if I want to keep my car a daily driver I am gonna take his advice and go no higher than Stage 4

If you are dead set on that much hp then go for it, but don't expect your car to be uch of a daily driver. Not what you are used to right now anyway.

Good luck tho.

So then, is the consensus an HRC stage 4? They assure directly through their site that the stage 5 is a daily driver and their own has over 20,000 turbocharged miles on it. Is there no solution for the weak axles? What do the drag cars use in place?

about how much hp can be used as a "daily driver" w/out hurting the car

say b out 25-350 = daily driver?..or is that too much?

on your car...a 420a, i'd guess about 250WHP would be a somewhat safe daily driver. personally, i wouldn't trust anything more. unless ofcourse you're running something like nitrous where you could just flip a switch and have the extra power for that instant...not all the time.

Well, if 250 at the wheels is "safe" for the 420a, then why does Hahn reasure me that their big daddy kit which uses a super 20g and large fmic with larger pistons and rods, and .02 over is a fine daily driver. Now of course I'm going to lose some daily driveability but they assure me time and time again that the 400+ hp is a very street driveable application. I'm not trying to be stubborn either, God knows that this is where I'm come for tech. help, so can anybody give me first hand knowledge?

common sense alone should tell you that 400whp is not going to be a daily driver.

HRC says it's possible? ofcourse they do, they're the ones selling it.

i know you don't want to hear that it can't be done, so go ahead and try it. trial and error can be very educational.

Im not saying its possible, but what if you just turned the boost WAY down? would that make the car runt oo rich or something?

Im trying to get a 200 HP daily driver so I will never hafta worry about a 400 or 500 HP car :p
