hey guys im fixing to buy a 96 eclipse with a 420 5spd its got 124,000 miles on it how long do the timing belts usually last and about how much are they to replace at a shop or doing it yourself?

You should change your Timing belt at least every 60,000 miiles. For a shop to do it I would expect anywhere from 300-600 depending on what they charge for labor.
