I just install an exhaust on my 1993 eagle talon 1.8 liter. It run like crap now can anyone think what the problem could be i bought the car a month ago and already have an intake on it and dont know what it could be to make my car run so bad. :talon:

can you explain what is going on? running like crap can mean a lot of things.

yeah sorry when i start it up it puts then dies but if i hit the gas it still puts then will idle and put i put a 4 inch aftermarket exhaust on it could that be the problem?

i just cut off the muffler where the joint{next to the tire kinda dont know what to call it} meets and just put the aftermarket muffler on it could it be too much back pressure

Ok you put a 4inch full exhaust on it or u put a 4inch tippd muffler on it cuz there is a big difference. if you bit on a full 4inch exhaust thats way to damn big! if its just the muffler then i dunno what your problem is it doesnt sound like an exhaust problem to me!

well i just went out and started and tight up the idle screw and it idles better and doesnt put as bad it was only a 4 inch muffler not a full 4 inch srry but it seems that may have been the problem thanks for the help anyway

no i didnt put the maf back its the intake off ebay will that mess up my engine having no maf on it i know someone who drives a 2.0 that did the same thing and has had it like for a month or 2

That's your problem, your MAS tells the engine how much air is going into it. Without the MAS it won't know how much gas to add to keep the right air/fuel ratio and will run as rich as possible to help stop detonation. However this means fuel is being dumped into your cylinders at a very high rate, running your engine extremely rich. That's not a good thing. Look at my E-Bay intake, you can do the same thing, or use your stock air can. But put your MAF back on there.

My intake (just use the stock air can and cut the "can" portion off around the filter and use that ring to hold your stock filter in place.)
