98 GST need turbo

Okay so heres my issue. i just got my 98 gst but the guy blew the seals on the turbo and it is no longer in commission. what is my best option here? rebuild the stock turbo? get a new one? i need a sort of cheap way because i have other bills to pay to, i found a 1g turbo on craigslist for $50, would that work?

another good place to buy turbos from is evolutionm.net. you can get a stock 16 for around $150 from time to time and sometimes good precision turbos as well.

well i am lookin at a 14b today in like 20 mins, he wants $50 but im gonna try and talk him down, he is also throwing in the oil and coolent lines, the only thing he doesnt have is the j bend but i found that on flea bay for $35, i can post pics of it when i get it and see what you guys think?

Please stop linking people to turbos that are either 6 times too large for their goal or have no promise of ever fitting a DSM. I deleted a very similar response from yourself in another thread.

Newer evo turbos won't work on dsms. Iirc they flow reverse compared to ours. People have tried and failed to use them many times. As for the jpipe I have a punishment racing jpipe in my classified ad. Pm me if interested Ill save ya a little money. Good luck with the 14b
