If anyone has a GM 3 Bar MAP and IAT sensor or a few bucks they could donate, so I could do some testing. It would help get things moving along. Thanks.

If someone had a spare H8 computer and 2.0 cable I could borrow then I could try it. ;)

Check out ebay for the MAP sensor and I'll try to figure out where I bought the temp sensor for my setup. My MAP sensor was about $45 and my pigtail and temp sensor were about $30. Welding in a bung was much more expensive and a bad experience for me. The idiots down at the exhaust shop told me they could weld aluminum then didn't get it done because the people they were subbing out to didn't get to it. I guess knowing someone that welds is the same as welding these days... Then they charged me $100 for it AND didn't seal my TB to the elbow worth a damn so I had to do it over again. They also welded it in upside down after I told them which way was up. Long story short do your homework on your welder. By the way get a bunch from Summit, it will be cheap and I can almost guarantee that in a medium city no one will have one on hand.

I have a set of 3g 4g64 lifters I will be putting in very soon. Those are the right ones right?
Yes

Is there anyway to turn off or delete the code for the rear O2 sensor?
Periphery Bits

The Temp sensors and Pigtails are plentiful at the junkyards, 3 bar MAPs are impossible to find though. Just drill and tap your manifold for the Temp sensor, easier and cheaper.

That would seem to be the case but for the $30 I was quoted to get the bung welded on I could barely buy a tap and gaskets let alone what my time is worth.

If anyone in the area wants to play with testing SD for Ceddy let me know I can help you get the base settings done well enough for testing and a better tune dialed in once we know things work.

I've just been itching to play with the flashable DSM ecus even though I know it isn't much different from the evo ecus. I just want to get my hands dirty again.

Does this actually completely do it on a 2g ECU? (On the Evo, we had to patch out the test for the rear O2 heater circuit to stop throwing the code for it when you have a physically-removed sensor.)

My rear o2 is "physically- removed" and no code. Easy as pie.

The 98-99 DSM, shares code with the Evo5/6 which have no rear O2.

I think all newer Evos, even JDM have a rear O2, maybe thats why they added the Heater Circuit test.

The periphery bits will stop CELs, but won't help with the Completion and Readyness Tests.

Just ordered my cable and evoscan as soon as I get them I will send you a few bucks for helping out.

Thanks.

Speed Density Conversion is in the works, hope to test it this week.

The Load Limit(Airflow Cap) has been found, and can be easily disabled. Need to look at the Injector PulseWidth Limit a little more.

Also looking at the CAS routines a little, trying to find a fix for 95-96 Inverted CAS cars.

The next release should be a big one.

Yeah NICE... I might need alittle help with my first flash. I have flashed phones and xbox's before I just don't understand all the parts to this.

What is them a break down of the file types?
What files are what?
What files do what?

Someone got a guide for this or anything close to a tuning guide for this? If not we could use one. If I get good at it I will write one.

General questions should go in the http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/tuning-engine-management/338754-first-flashed-dsm-ecu-98-99-flashing-faq.html thread.

.hex, .bin, .rom are the ROM thats flashed to the ecu.

.xml are the DEFs or Definitions for EcuFlash, they define the tables and maps you can edit.

There is a lot of info in the First Flashed FAQ thread. Check out EvoM: EcuFlash sub-forum for some tuning guides and tuning videos.

The .xml Definition I made might look overwhelming because it has like 60 maps, but you only really use 4 of those maps. Its easy to get the hang of the basics.

Any updates? I know you said you have 1.5 almost ready on the 5th.

I have a few local people that want me to change a few basic ecu items and they are willing to pay me to do it.

I told them $20 which I'll send to you for your work. I'm hoping to help set this off and get people aware of your mods so that we can get more support for more options. I'm still building my motor so I have yet to try all this out.

Devoting most of my free time to getting Speed Density working which is a big project. Studying the Air Flow routines for SD allowed me to find the AirFlow and Injector Pulsewidth Limit.

I'm up to version 1.7 now, but don't have anything I would release to the public without more testing.

Use version 1.4, its a stable release.

Is there anyway to remove the 6-bolt random misfire when flashing the 98 ecu? that shit is a pain in the ass!. AND IF i could do it with flashing i can hold off on the ecmlink for right now let me know thanks

Do you mean the Random Miss-Fire, Check Engine Light P0300 codes? That is easily disabled.

Or are you getting actual Miss-Fires while driving?

I'm running a 6-bolt and I know of at least two others with 6-bolts, I haven't heard of any Miss-Fire problems yet.

Got my GM 3bar MAP today
Made some logs
Ready for testing

Could you email me some of your logs of MAP, Load, and RPMs.
I'll compare them to mine and try to make a rough base VE map.

My VE maps are a little different then the Evo maps, I think mostly because of different MAF sensors, and I think their cam are a little larger, better IM, etc.

Yes sir the random misfire code , typical on 6 bolt swaps, some people usually get random misfires AND some people dont. but I have them, so this could be disabled just like on dsmlink?

I emailed you few logs i did this morning

And yes ... EVO cams are larger and for sure the IM flows better

My Logs are similar to yours, you should be able to use my VE map to start out.

I'll send you a SD ROM in a bit, want to test one more thing first.
