Generally cheap products dont provide quality performance. Ebay's page didnt load for me but I am assuming those springs dont cost more then $100. I would say, stay away from them. Most things Ebay ( unless they are name brand ) will be crap because of their lack of R&D.

Support the vendors who put the money into quality products otherwise we wont have them around any longer.

Coilovers for $60? If they are decent at all, I'm sure everyone would run them. Every other set is at least $400. You know what they say, if it sounds to good to be true it usually is.
I am an ebay supporter, but it does have it drawbacks. Moving parts seem to break easily. Fitment usually isn't right or sub-par. I would say buy a set of used eibach springs. If you looked and waited it would only cost you about $50 more, and they would be a quality part that would last the life of the car.

your not serious right? did you think what happens to the space when you lower the car , between the shock and spring? Trust me these coilvers are not even worth going on my brothers trycicle And just for the record , there is no GOOD and CHEAP stuff , trust me .

For 300, the best you'll get is used most likely. That said, it's impossible to say where to go or what you'll get, for that matter. To get a decent suspension that looks and handles well you'll be spending more around $500. I wouldn't recommend buying used shocks personally. Springs on the other hand aren't as bad.

Lots of eBay sellers like that worry me.
No spring strength.
No dimensions.
No specs at all.
Even says "Color may vary". Spooky.

I'll be honest - I've bought cheap parts in the past, and for the most part they've worked, and relatively well. Of course, when buying anything cheap and/or used, you'll get bit at least once. However, with items as important as your car's suspension components, I'd go with quality first and foremost, and not look any other direction.

If your shocks have less than 10,000 miles on them, I'd say pick up a set of Megan Racing springs.

Otherwise, a set of GR-2s and MR springs would add a fresh look, and crisp handling. For about $500, you can have the spring / strut combo, but if you're on a budget, I'd snag the springs first, and keep saving for struts.

Check out shox.com for some nice, new deals. If you want a coilover, Ground Control offers some for the 1g's, already with Eibach springs on them, for about $399.

those types of coilovers wont work on the stock struts anyways IIRC. i remember when i had a neon (similar strut type) someone did a write up on how to make them work poroperly and you had to cut off the spring perch and rig up some exhaust pipe on it to support the coilover sleeve. just buy someqaulity lower springs and call it a day

I installed those on a 98 rs i had and I can tell you 1st hand they suck.Look for about a 6" drop with it fully extended. theres a reason there so cheap go ahead and spend the money to do it right the 1st time.

EDIT: Perhaps you should read the seller's "Feedback Reviews" posted by consumers like yourself. I briefly looked through it, and the overwelming majority are happy with their purchase, but there are a few people who are not so happy. Again, the old adage comes into play here with Ebay - "You get what you pay for."

Not only that, but IMHO there is a lot more technological know-how regarding suspension systems than, for example, exhaust systems. Personally, I would much rather pay for something that I know is going to work and perform, instead of hoping I made a decent purchase.

Just be careful.

I knew all of this stuff about cheap coil overs but I took the chance for the money. I had my buddy install them for me. Yes you do have to cut make some changes to get them to fit. However, my buddy said it wasn't a problem at all and I've had them on for over a year. No problems at all. Adjusts very easily and gives my car much better look. For handling though I also had him install KYB GR-2 shocks and struts. I found a good deal on ebay for them for about 120. If you're looking for big performance don't buy anything cheap. However for me, right now I'm not looking to even start messing with turbos for another year because I'm a student and I need a reliable car. Plus I don't know enough yet. However those cheap coil overs worked great for me for looks, and for the handling I got some decent shocks and struts. Whatever works best for you.

yeah thanks..actually after a few months of wear the springs naturally dropped more than i wanted and it was way too low for me as well. However since they're adjustable all I had to do was raise it up a little. I'm not sure if good quality springs do this as well?

I bought a used civic some time back that had these type of coilovers on it. They ride like garbage. There is no give at all in the suspension. I say buy a set of quality drop springs like tein's

Sorry, I consider ebay coilovers those adjustable slinky type springs, while I consider drop springs actual springs w/out adjustment

Buy good springs to your specification elsewhere.
Buy decent shocks/struts.

Plan on loosing adjustability of the perches (depending on climate) as they corrode.

I never thought about doing that. That's a great idea though. Would most if not all springs fit onto the perches?

Thats actually not a bad idea there wret. That actually may work out well for someone you know? You can get the perches for $30.00, get some quality used Eibach or whatever springs & struts and have a pretty good setup at that point for the budget minded person.
