If you are a 1G who is looking at just making the shifter shorter and not installing an actual short shifter, pick up the 2G shift knob. It is less than half the size of the baseball bat 1G shift knob and gives the feel of a much shorter throw.

This is a comparison between the '90 and '91-94 shifters which are VERY different. It is to my understanding that the 2G is much closer to the '90 model year in design.
