I don't know the car specifically but 3-d motorsports is owned by Chad, he is the boss of dsms! if he did anything to that car its of quality. just google 3-d motorsports and give him a call and ask to see if he remembers it.
4700 for an almost bone stock 96 TSi AWD with 88,000 original miles baby! Leather and all in perfect shape and 0 rust! I've been in love ever since!:):):)
I had this same issue and mine was a valve cover gasket issue that I fixed but the oil had settled on the gasket. No smoke or anything just bubbling and once I replaced all the gaskets and degreased that entire side the issue ceased! Good luck
#### Honda's! I love racing mustang GT, camaros, actual competition, I've beaten a 2011 charger srt off the line at a stop light in Lincoln, no comparison with that AWD!!! Its beast! Granted my car runs 1 time every 6 months but I've never came as much as I did that day! ;) jk jk
I had an old 95 GS and I just couldn't fork the money to convert that to anything. I just found a 96 awd talon and built on from there. I have almost $10,000 into it and its still in need of some work. It's a money pit but its "my" money pit. No matter what my car is worth it and I'm just...
Absolutely fix it! I am also in nebraska with a 96 TSi awd and that thing just plows through snow no problem! Sometimes its too much fun which is why I have a new Turbo on order ;). I love that people say wtf is a talon! Plus the ladies like em
I would get a manny tranny model man that car would become a money pit based on the issues you have been having and than just fix that one up but that's up to you dude
I paid $4500 in 2010 for my 96 TSi AWD with 88,000 original miles on it. It sat for 7 1/2 years before I got it, the guy passed away and his family finally departed with it.
O okay! I eventually want to get the 2gb front bumper and the high rise spoiler but I just re painted both so I'm gonna wait until my bumper is also thrashed.
Well it can still be the CAS/ crank sensor, I was running terribly rich and than my car had this same problem. The dealership replaced everything in the timing area and it runs better than ever!
In regard to my hood, it's actually a genuine good hood fiberglass hood. It was custom fit for our cars! They are $800 dollars online but they work great for both 420a and 4g63 motors alike. The 4g63 motor needs to have the air intake pipe lowered to clear, I did this by taking the rest support...
I am having a similar problem. Eventually you will stop your car and it will just stop running. It's the fuel pump, mine finally gave and you couldn't hear it turn on either.
Very plausible, may be a leak too however just depends. May need to just replace/ repair just in case. I always do because I maintain more than repair since I replace before it is totally out. Things break though it's a DSM.
Idk if there are any cars that have the same but i will tell you to buy new if possible. I replaced this coil pack with one that was used and now it's messed up again. My new one is 100 dollars from Oreileys. Have it on Tuesday and the new ignition control module is 144 new, which I also...
mine just randomly started doing the exact same thing a few hours ago! had the car running for about an hour, shut it off to get ready for work and than about 45 minutes later the car sounds like it blew up. The CEL showed a P0303 which is the cylinder 3 misfire, and I believe that its the coil...
Any pics? I would say like 4500-5000 I paid only 4700 for my 96 talon TSi AWD with 88,000 original miles and in damn near mint condition. Being in the Midwest with these cars just kills the value. Just what I have noticed.
I agree with the general maintenance on your vehicle. DSMs have a terrible rep for things both big and small going out. When I bought my 96 talon TSi AWD, 2 miles after driving it the idle air control valve went out and in neutral it revved itself up. That was 100 dollars after 3 minutes.....see...
my 96 TSi AWD in Nebraska, very very good condition and only 88,000 originals. Personally the talons are in better shape than the eclipses out here in the midwest. Everyone wants the eclipse for the name but forgets that the talons are the same.
i totally agree I'm a young guy and my tsi awd was the best option for price, considering I am in school. I have only a few mods on my car and I hang with all the cars I come up against, i have about 103,000 on my motor and it runs just fine. of course when you start to have knock, oil leaks...
boost creep as stated before is a turbo issue. plain and simple. The issue with power is many times the fuel. running e-85 is useful for more power and is easy easy for our cars. It is simple.get a walboro 255 they are not expensive and are just awesome!
also go with a 750 cc injector...
that will do it, I bought my TSI awd a smidge off, and i had to fix it, also just food for thought...the 95 and 96 talon tsi and tsi awd and eclipse gst and gsx have the crankshaft and camshaft sensors near the timing belt. the camshaft is just inside the rear camshaft sprocket and the...
yup! common 420A turbo setup issues. Its most likely just a line to the turbo. Because there is modification needed to run oil lines in a 420A sometimes the bending, and clamps used cause a slip or cracking. Check all the lines and where they run to and see where the oil is leaking from. in...
honestly that could be a crap ton of issues, a few that I may know of to help.first off these cars have a tricky system with the clutch. They have to be torqued exact or there is noises its just a fact.I wouldnt worry about the noise so much as the fact that you have pressure yet there is...
i agree I had the same issue with my 4g63 its under the timing belt but I bought it from a guy who didnt put the timing cover on and the valve cover gasket got messed up and leaked and when it hit the sensor it clogged the metal on its base and the car was crappy. usually its the crankshaft...
I agree, and suggest that if it is the bolts which it probably is just call a local mitsubishi and get new ones also the white clips are found actually at orschleins here in Nebraska, im not sure if ace or any place like that has them but they are actually common on many things, but of course...
Yes I have i just recently did it in a very high quality black powder coat it does work good but honestly I would just invest in a set of non-stock rims, the new rims have a good warranty and plus issues usually arise if you prep wrong, or if the surface is not perfect.
to fix that leak just simply loosen the clamp and pull the hose a little more onto the line and than degrease as much as you can to tell where the true issue is. white smoke is oil obviously and I would suggest checking your valve seals, mine did the same thing and I just went ahead and...
ok! that is a big difference but I like it lol. From 6pm to 10am, that is actually beneficial. I will make sure to mark the calendar and we will see everyone at 10AM I will bring the soda still because most of us are drinking cases of this and monster just to work on our cars on the weekend...
off topic i know but I wanna kiss the ground where the DSM plant was in Normal!!! lol im dead serious i will take a trip there soon I just wish mitsu would bring them back. I so badly want one fresh off the line custom built.
hey its jared. sorry about the last meet and sweet! the car is doing better I had just got it out of the body shop like 3 days before the last meet and it was not ready for that long drive but this time I think she will be much better than before. I will be there and unfortuanately I have no...
hey sorry guys i should have not brought the car it was having a leakage issue with the water pump and she ran out of coolant on my way to get pop for the meet. I got some water put in her and took her home but she is all better now. god i wanted to be there my car was soo nice!!! and my...
there is one today at 6pm in Council Bluffs. its literally across the bridge from Omaha.hey guys cant wait, see everyone soon. Gotta go clean, wax, prep and all that BS before I take off. How much soda should i bring??
