Many of you have questioned that I may or may not be a Dr, hopefully this helps clear things up.

History first:

Dec 95 I become aware of the DSM and only months before my 16th b-day I began to really research and want the vehicle. Keep in mind that I know nothing about cars, at that point I had never even changed oil.

Jul 97 with some good grades and behavior my father purchases for me a 90 AWD dark cherry talon for $4,500 with 97k.

During my senior year in 98 the high school had gotten the internet and they have each student play with it to try it out, I searched Eagle Talon and OH MY... that was the beginning of the end. I immediately started reading but took the good advice of others not to mod unless you knew what you were doing, I subscribed to Todd Day's daily digest and for the next two years did nothing but read and research with out posting any questions. I literally would search about every single component of the vehicle until I had an understanding of what it was, where it was at, and how to mod change or fix it. This was the most crucial point in my DSM career, during that time I never did one thing to my car except drive it.

Jul 99 After being schooled by the pioneers of the DSM world I figure it was about time to mod my car, but I wanted a 91 because of all of the deficiencies of a 90. Luck struck and my cousin found a 91 dark cherry 91 AWD with a cracked windshield and a smoking turbo. I purchased it for $3500 with 75K on it.

From 99- 00 the modding had begun. Street racing is at an all time high and I am spanking people left and right and get a name for my self. I joined the local Cincidsm chapter here locally where I live. I'm not going to go into everything about that car but one thing leads to another eventually a motor blows, inexperience rearing its head keeping in mind prior to 97 I have never done any automotive repair ever and trying to build a DSM motor with no experience did not go over well either.

In 2001 I saw I was deficient in my skills and knowledge so I enrolled in the Sinclair Community College automotive program which is one of the most premier in the country. Years later I have been schooled yet again this time with hands on experience and more info. For two years while doing an internship as a Mitsu tech in Cincinnati my Mitsu experience really expanded such as learning the CAPS program, learning tricks from other experienced Mitsu techs, and accumulate parts at a very cheap rate. Take that with the 7 years of DSM knowledge and you get Dr Turbo.... or so my friends started to call me.

Here is a complete working DSM EFI system that I built on a board as a school project. The cam turned.. the plugs fired and so did the injectors, I got an “A”.

I graduate in 04 and I was broke, my previous DSM was done for, I had experimented on so many things learning it was just time to start over, but between large cash purchases for tools and school bills I was very limited. I was buying junk DSMs fixing and selling them to make ends meet and support my habit.

These pics are one I did.

Here is another, sorry I don't have any before pics but it turned out real nice I sold it to a freind which ultimately funded my next car. I did some more but I'm not going to post each one, this is just to give you an idea.

You know, I don't really know what to say about this. We have our issues, and I don't see those dissipating, but this is the best "about me" thread I've seen in a LONG time.

so am i a dr to? i have the same credentials as you do minus caps but then again im a level 3 chrysler technicial that gets just about every mitsu thrown my way.

Spring 03 I came across a 91 FWD laser and began to mod it in small steps and take it to the track each time to record my progress and to prove my new knowledge. It pays off, 12.9 @109 on 14b which back then was the FWD record, mods were race gas, 21 psi, K&N, boost gauge/controller, drag radials, 3” exhaust, VPC and AFC. If this car looks familiar to some it was because I won the burn out contest at the SO that year.

Oct 03 Me and a tree have a come to Jesus meeting. I was speeding too fast on a back road and was drifting unto the oncoming lane where there was a Caddy coming straight at me, I turned in and it threw off my line and I lost it into the forest. I totaled my beautiful car, had my head stapled together, and worst of all almost probably would have killed 3 people would I have hit them, but thank you Jesus I didn't. I learned a valuable lesson. Spirited driving I still do, but I have learned for road racing keep that stuff on the track, there are to many unknowns out in the country.

Mar 04 I purchase a set of Eibachs and AGXs but the seller says I have to take the whole car if I want the suspension. The car is a bare shell with nothing but glass, wiring, and body panels. It is a 91 black AWD Talon shell and that is where we begin the real story here.

ouch youve had some very clean dsm s that sucks about the last one

So I have this shell sitting there and I need a new DSM, but the shell is not up to my clean standards. Well time passes and I began to notice that the car is straight, like it has never been wrecked, I start crawling underneath it and find no rust, so I make a conscious decision that this will be my last DSM I ever build, it is all or none and even though it was not a laser which is what I really wanted I took a good platform and begin a great quest.

2004 So I began to piece this thing together with all the parts I have accumulated over having a dozen different DSMs. The goal right now is just to get the thing running again and see how it feels out.

Spring 05 After 1 year I finally getting the car going, and it is pretty nice. The car starts on the first crank.... I'm back after about a year and a half. The body is horrid but only temporary. Here are pics of the car throughout "05, and yes I was able to make it to the SO again.

I acquired some new light weight wheels right before I put the car into storage because I refuse to drive the car in rain or snow anymore.

Spring 06 I pull the car out of storage and all is well. I have been boosting the car pretty hard about 26-28 psi race gas every day all day, it was cheap back then, but the motor is tired. There is a lot of history with this motor and me. Back in 96 I met my first DSMer at a speed shop and he was the owner of the red Laser that I totaled and he had been boosting it with Buschur parts back then. He sold the car to another guy, and then he sold it to the Owner of Extreme Autosports where the owner had me build it for him and he road raced that red Laser. After he melted a hole in the head, he sold me the red Laser, I boosted this same block with a new head on it until I totaled the car, I then pulled the same motor it had been running and put it into this car. After one more year of abuse it was finally tired, 105 across the board after 10 years of abuse and racing, WOW the 4g63 is amazing.

I went ahead a threw on a Supra SMIC a friend had laying around right before the motor got weak.
