Resolved 2g p0300 CEL

97 GST Spyder
Recently had a random miss firing no spark. Just start doing it out of nowhere. I was at a stop light and idle so low the tech meter was as below 250rpm. I thought it the fuel pump being that the next morning car ran fine and again at a stop light 250rpm and CEL I had my scanner and the infamous p0300 and nothing else...weird I did a quick search but nothing what my car has...

After doing process of elimination 1 at a time starting with a BLT, fuel pump relay, fuel pump spark plug and wires, ecu, coil pack, fuses 450cc injectors & fuel injector pack o2 sensors then I discovered it was the Ignition Transistor MD189747 I only had access to 2.4 transistor off a 96 4g64 spyder I tried it and all fixed. I swapped between both ran like s*** with original and ran perfect again with the 2.4 spyder. 4g63the 2.0 and 4g64 2.4 have the same transistors packs just different mounting brackets with 2 screws. I just swap the pack for brackets to mount the coil pack back too and voila she's running on all 4 again.
Everyone that had this p0300 code always other codes with different set ups as well that's why I decided to have this typed up. I only have a 97 7bolt head on a 7 block
block. For anyone who might run into this.
I will be keeping an eye out for this but honestly engine sounds a bit better as in the tone of how it runs in going to test another 2.4 transistor compared to the 4g63t transistor.
