Hello! just like title said, I took a chance and traded my ek coupe stock as showroom condition for a 97 eclips gst with a 6 bolt swap and td05 turbo. this is my first dsm car and for having it just one day I like it a lot so far, made a couple new friends on some dsm facebook pages, asked a lot of questions and what not. The car has some issues like tps sensor is bad so it shuts off after WOT, and it has a oil pan gasket leak, which im fixing tomorrow. it was done couple of days ago but it was ordered for a 2g instead of 1g motor. I'll be looking for a tps sensor if anyone has one laying around, and some parts like FMIC and whatever im going to need to at least hit low 14s. not a high goal but its just a milestone I want to reach! ask away if you want to know more about the car!

Congrats on the new car!! The shutting could be caused by a few things. Check for boost/vacuum leaks. Adjust the biss screw. Check the iac motor. They have a tendency to go out.

Few tips.

Run rotella diesel oil. 10-30 or 15-40 is your choice. The 15-40 is great especially on a motor with more miles.
Get a boost, oil pressure, and wideband gauges in that order of importance.
These cars don't use an oil pan gasket, and I've only heard bad things about the aftermarket ones. They just use rtv. Clean and degrease everything very well. A wire brush on a drill works wonders.
If you don't know the history, do the timing belt/water pump. Gates has the belt on Amazon for $25.
I'd also recommend changing the trans fluid. Redline makes good fluid but it's pricey. If you decide to use normal gear oil, use 75-90 gl4. Do not use gl5 based oil in the trans.

Other than that enjoy the car. Stock intercooler will take you into the 13's. Do you know if it's a 14b or 16g? Either can make 300 at the wheels.

You traded a showroom car for that pile of? How could you!
I troll, i troll :)

Welcome to the DSM world, and DSMTuners community. Hope you enjoy both, and have fun driving/modding your new ride. Would be nice to see some pictures of the car.
