Hello all, the name's Paul and I'm from Massachusetts. (Anybody else in NE region?) I just picked up a 1997 GSX and can't wait to learn all about them! It has an HKS BOV, 3" turboback exhaust, and hard upper/lower piping. It also has a small idling issue, which i'm working to figure out. Other than that, it's ready to hit the streets!

Paul, welcome to the DSM community. The upgrade and maintenance path is usually a good first checkpoint IMO. Let us know when you have any q's or issues and we'll be sure to find or try to find the solution. :thumb:

Actually, something went wrong while I was driving on the highway last night. I heard a loud pop and my exhaust backfired, and it ran rough in every gear on the way home. I now have a p0304 and a p1103 code. I was thinking of checking for a boost leak, but do you have any other suggestions for these? I'm also changing the plugs today.

Hey Paul! I live in MA too!
As for the codes the Cyl 4 Misfire could be caused by the second code. This is a thread about that code.
You might have to replace the Wastegate Actuator. But checking vac lines never hurts.

Once I get my TSi we should go for a drive!
