Hello everyone, I honestly came by because I found some universal race car techniques used in your tech section and I decided to make an account. I used to be of the mitsubishi world (I had a 3000GT VR4, not quite DSM but almost).

I've got a small shop with a few friends and we're working on the following:

98 Subaru RS with a 2007 Subaru STI full drive train swap with a 600+ HP sleeved monster build that we're building for time attack.

85 Toyota AE86 with a 1UZ V8 swap from a Lexus that we're building for drifting

69 Toyota Hilux with a 3SGTE swap from a MR2 Turbo with a frame up classic restoration / show.

The pic of the hilux is kind of a joke, those are street tires for the subaru, we found out it has the same bolt pattern LOL.

Thanks guys! Sad thing is I alwayyysss wanted a GSX or a talon but never got one because I came up on a smoking deal for my 3000GT and by the time I was done with that car (with its billion issues) I was over Mitsubishi and I went to the dark side and bought a Subaru LOL.

GSX or Talon is a great buy :p
I also always wanted to build a 3000GT VR-4. I bought a 3000GT SL and was in the process of converting it to a VR-4 AWD, but I was about to have a son, so I sold it, came across some N/a talons worked on those, found a spyder which was my pride and joy even though I did nothing with it, eventually came across a TSI, that I thought was a good deal, but now I'm goin back to a Spyder after parting out my TSI.

I love Mitsubishi period, it might not easily obtain 1k hp, but the 4g63t is a very powerful engine, upgrade able for power for a decent price, and if taken care of run forever. Not to mention GSX and TSI (all Eclipse and Talon) Have sexy curves in their 2g body heh.

I'm not always the best decision maker, my past cars and posts on this forum pretty much prove it. I'm even still learning about DSM, and I'm already on the move for a build journal on a Spyder AWD/6Bolt except! To separate myself, I wan't to Talon body style it. Which pretty much means throw a Eagle emblem, and do some rear light work.

I love their "hips" LOL, especially on the widebodies.... :sneaky:

AWD and turbo is always a winning combination hehe.

If a DSM is a diamond star motors project, then why wouldn't the 3000gt / dodge stealth be considered a DSM? Just because it doesn't have a 4g63?

The Dodge Stealth was a captive import produced in the Japan while DSM's were a 50/50 joint venture between Mitsubishi and Chrysler made in Normal, Il. To the OP, welcome to Tuners.

The DSM badge was for the Chrysler and mitsu partnership and if I remember right, they together designed the 420A NT motor and really had nothing to do with the 4G63. I don't stand by this statement.
